Your VandalProof Application
Dear K.vale,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.1 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen TC (Stollery) 10:48, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Matt Anderson
You marked Matt Anderson as a speedy delete. Did you examine the history to see that you are marking a vandalized version as a speedy delete? The previous (proper) version is for a baseball player. I will revert to that version. If you still think it merits a speedy delete debate, please mark it again. -Phoenixrod 21:24, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, never mind. :) You seem to have cleared it up as I typed the above message. No worries! -Phoenixrod 21:26, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Wait, What?
Why did you PM me telling me to not vandalize? I have never vandalized. I have an account. I'm an active user and I have my own wiki on my own webspace so I know a thing about Wikipedia and that it should not be vandalized. Why did you do this? --66.30.45.186 18:58, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
He's Doctor Static
I also got a mail telling me that my revert was being reverted and telling me not to revert it back! But, my revert was only an edit.
This cat's on the anti-vandalism which operates like the ATF. (if I am permitted metaphors)
I just fixed the wording of a sentance. It feels like I got shot while taking out my garbage. PLUTONIS —Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.254.241.196 (talk • contribs)
When reverting, please read the FULL edit before removing the changes, as you have been reverting genuine contributions to Wikipedia. Thanks!
Welcome to VandalProof!
Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, K.vale! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. - Glen TC (Stollery) 06:07, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Bohemian Rhapsody
First of all, I do not believe this edit is "nonsense" and I am currently searching for the several sources I have read who have made this statement. If you disagree with those who have that belief, I am truly sorry for you, but it is a widely accepted fact that most cover versions of Bohemian Rhapsody are not even close to as good as the original, and it is also widely accepted the the version by The Flaming Lips is the best. I do not ask that you revert your revision, I simply ask that you retract your statement that this is "nonsense" without any further research into the subject. I won't post it again until I have a source when, I promise you, I will repost it. Don't discriminate simply because I'm an IP. Thank you. 71.68.15.122 23:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- As I said on your page, it failed WP:NPOV skorpion 23:33, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- If it is a widely held opinion, then I believe that that doens't violate any of the NPOV provisions. If you like I can give you many already existing examples which are accepted in the articles already (added by official memebers I might add). 71.68.15.122 23:34, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Cleaning the dog
Good idea putting cleanup notices on the Kelpie Collie article. I agree entirely - it doesn't cite sources and that needs to be corrected. I don't know if you took a peak at earlier versions through the History tab, but virtually all of the information was provided by a teenage girl with not only a poor command of written English, but a poor understanding of Wikipedia as well, amply demonstrated by the fact that she signed her name as the author of the article (and apparently wrote articles about herself and her pet bird). I cleaned up the spelling, grammar, inconsistent capitalisation, punctuation, redundancy and other syntactic problems on 17 May, but the fact checking - as you say - is notably in absence. Zerrakhi 17:14, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks skorpion. I have just realised that Ezza is only in Year 12 of High School, so may not appreciate the need for citations and research -- it's obvious she didn't fully read the Kelpie history! So I'm inclined to treat her gently... Gordon | Talk, 4 June 2006 @09:12 UTC
Template "meals"
In the "meals" template, the word snack goes to a disambiguation page, not the required article. I dont know how to change that. Anyone want to fill me in - leave a note on my talk page. See Lunch for an example of the template. skorpion 08:45, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- To change the template vist: Template:Meals, and edit the page. Close to the bottom you will see |[[Snack]]. Amend the bit in the square brackets to point to the page you want. You do not need to edit the pages that include the template. --MarkS (talk) 09:31, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Counter-vandalism patrol
KV: I hope you don't mind, but I am going to remove deletion profile on the Hebrew High School article. (I put it there.) I'm also going to do a rewrite sometime in the future. V. Joe 02:47, 8 June 2006 (UTC) Concur: in re HHS. V. Joe 02:49, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Albury
Hi Viridae!
Fancy that! Well I only made a passing visit really. I was there for two days in February this year on VCE camp. --Fir0002 10:45, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Re:Review
I think the best thing would be for you to take a look at Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship, especially the "What RfA contributors look for" and "What RfA contributors look for and hope not to see" sections.
From a quick scan of your recent contributions:
- Like you say, edit summaries. There is an option in preferences that turns on a prompt if you try and save a page without one.
- You need more experience. Your talk page is rather short, indicating you haven't yet had a huge amount of interaction with the community.
- Some of your recent AFD !votes (where !=not, AFD is not a vote but it's a convenient word to use to describe a comment with recommendation :) say "speedy delete" (example). If you recommend speedy delete, please make sure that it meets one of the criteria for speedy deletion, and if it does specify which one. If it doesn't meet a CSD then the article shouldn't be speedy deleted (that's what AFD is for).
- Your talk page comments are fairly limited but the ones I've seen seem civil, which is obviously good :)
Finally, whilst I don't see self-noms as a problem, standards for self noms are generally higher. Either way you'll need to show that you know and have experience with what admins do, and the policies and guidelines that we should all be following (unless you misapply ignore all rules, which pleases a few and annoys a heck of a lot more!) Petros471 16:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
PS. Why do you sign as something diffrent from your username? Petros471 16:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!
Hi, thank you for the barn star :) I think there is still a lot of work to be done on viral vectors though. I've had no luck getting release for images so far, so I'm trying to put a few illustrations together myself. Peter Z.Talk 17:24, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Re Ensay
Thanks. Do you just create a new page and turn the old one into a redirect, or is there a better way? --jjron 04:00, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Unless there is no potential to create an article on a topic, it is always preferable to disambiguate a link, rather than remove it. thanks, Warofdreams talk 22:58, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Glad to hear it. I've disambiguated the link to Ensay, Outer Hebrides. Warofdreams talk 23:51, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

This was a mistake; the anon was reverting censorship. I'll take care of it - just wanted to let you know. Thanks for watching! Λυδαcιτγ 04:34, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

I know. You click an IP adress and find an entire userpage. Odd, is it not? Hopefully it will soon be transferred to an actual username. :) 69.145.123.171 Hello! Saturday, June 24, 2006, 05:00 (UTC)

Cheers. Just got the slow, creeping feeling that there was something really weird going on there... Kinda ghoulish. Who knows what he's up to...? But I also didn't really care to find out, so just tried to throw as many books at him as I could, and maybe invoke WP:SNOW. :-) --DaveG12345 13:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Short of following the recipe or ordering a couple of cans, the best way to try it may involve some careful booking on your next airline flights in the United States. Whereever you are going in North America, try to connect through Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport, which is a hub. It the airport, there is a Gold Star Chili, one of many restaurants that specialize in the stuff. Grab a bite to eat there and savor the goodness. I know its quite complicated to book travel arraingements based on chili, but its sooooo worth it. Cheers. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 01:02, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
