Notability of Chris Englund

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Chris Englund, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alcemáe T C 05:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial use of Image:Mnlions.gif

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Mnlions.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Mnlions.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Mnlions.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 05:30, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just regarding your recent edits to the article, all information on wikipedia must be verifiable, and the current section on Teachers/Faculty lacks sources and reads as being point of view. Could you please add appropriate references to the section and rewrite it to a more neutral tone, or else it may be deleted.

Issues here are contained in WP:VERIFY and WP:NPOV.

You have created a user page for another user. Presumably that user is an individual other than yourself, perhaps a classmate at Lourdes. I suggest that you remove it. You should not use Wikipedia to create articles about your acquaintances, nor should you create user pages for individuals other than youself, even as a joke, and the content of your edit may not be taken as a joke. Kablammo 14:49, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your explanation. It perhaps would be a good thing if your friend edited the userbox under his own name, to demonstrate to anyone else who might come along that it is his, and not someone else's work.
And welcome to editing Minnesota articles! The Rochester article could use some work to get it in line with Wikipedia guidelines. I hope you will find time to work on it. Kablammo 17:19, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that was very nice of you to explain, however i regretfully feel that your description lacks accuracy that is up to wikipedia's standards. In the future, i will edit my own name to demonstrate that it isn't some kind of joke. THANKS lmk29o

Speedy deletion of N.N.H.S.

[edit]

Please do not make personal attacks. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. N.N.H.S.

[edit]

It is hard to tell exactly what this page was about. However, it is certainly not suitable for Wikipedia.

  • It could be considered an attack on the National Honor Society, especially as large portions of the page were simply copied from National Honor Society with minor changes. It appeared the whole purpose of the page was to poke fun at the National Honor Society.
  • If this society is an actual organisation, with clearly defined members, meetings etc, then is is almost certainly not significant enough for an encyclopedia article - stick it into Google and you get one relevant hit, and that's a blog (not a reliable source). It thus fails Wikipedia:Notability by a very long way.
  • Judging by your comments on my talk page, it appears you just started a page about people who are not members of the National Honor Society. Such a page is completely unencyclopedic. Think: does it actually give the reader any useful information whatsoever? No.

Pictures of Med City Marathon

[edit]

Hi Willy11009! I was on the Minnesota WP page and noticed your from the Rochester area. Do you by chance have photos we could add to the Med City Marathon page? We've worked hard to get a rock solid set of facts and tables for the page, but we don't have any pictures of the runners/winners or the race in action. Let me know if you can help. Or if you know of someone else who can! Comm260 ncu (talk) 19:15, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
