How do Quotes work?[edit]

Am I allowed to change a quote if it has a spelling mistake? What about grammar mistakes? Wormslurs (talk) 14:37, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Wormslurs, quotes are quotes and should remain as quoted if text. If spoken spelling could be corrected, but not the grammar as it should be as said. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 15:04, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'll just note for reference and further reading that MOS:QUOTE is the page that describes how to handle quotes. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 15:21, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do not change other editors comments[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.Canterbury Tail talk 01:15, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Going through other users edits[edit]

Hi there. I can't help but notice that you've started going through all the articles that I edit and making edits to them. While following other editor's edits is not against the rules, unless it's harassing (see WP:HOUNDING), it's generally frowned upon. I noticed a couple of your edits from my watchlist, but now my watchlist is filling up as you go through all those articles that I look at. This could be seen in a negative manner, so I caution you to be careful on that.

Now I don't mind personally (though I notice that not all your grammatical changes are correct and it's starting to clutter my watchlist up), but other users may take it personally. Canterbury Tail talk 02:04, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, I meant no negativity or harassment. Wormslurs (talk) 02:10, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I know, that's why I'm just giving you a friendly heads up. One thing though, it seems much of your grammar edits are in fact incorrect. You seem to be applying incorrect American grammar rules to British and Canadian English language articles which should use the native form of English (see WP:ENGVAR.) Also some of them, I'm afraid to say, just seem wrong. Such as hyphenating right wing-low on the Westcoast Air article, or the incorrect comma on the Northern Ireland article. If you're going to make edits as "Fixed grammar", you need to be sure the grammar you're changing it to is actually correct in the context. Canterbury Tail talk 02:15, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your help, I will take closer looks at my edits. Wormslurs (talk) 02:21, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GA topicon[edit]

Why did you remove my question without replying? L293D () 16:27, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Never had Dean Smith in a GA Topicon... Wormslurs (talk) 16:33, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Stop playing with me. You know just as well as I do that until ten minutes ago, you had a Dean Smith topicon on your userpage (here is the proof). You just removed it in this edit. It is not a crime to put incorrect info on your userpage, however, to persist and remove messages on your talk page and then claim you never had one is, franky, not good behavior. Wormslurs, have you edited Wikipedia previously or had another account previously? Canterbury Tail talk 17:05, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Canterbury Tail😔, But I had no idea the GA Topicon was about Dean Smith... Wormslurs (talk) 17:09, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What account name have you previously edited Wikipedia under? Canterbury Tail talk 17:10, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
