Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Ladakh, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. noq (talk) 15:27, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Forget crap policies. Check where Ladakh is on map. Only flag has been put up because Ladakh is in India. Check any news channel if you want. I don't know who you are or your native country but please do not play with the flag of the country and respect India's sovereignty and integrity. Mostly even if you remove the flag it doesn't mean the location is not in India. Indian military still is present and still falls the territory under India so please do not fool yourself and the world. Your changes won't prove anything too but shows wiki lacks authenticity and puts up wrong stuff to mislead people.

This is nothing to do with politics. WP:INFOBOXFLAG says that we shouldn't use flags in infoboxes, whichever country it might be: "[W]here the status of the territory is subject to a political dispute, the consensus of editors at that article will determine whether flag use in the infobox is preferred or not". Gain consensus first. "Country: India" is simple enough for everyone to understand. Your argument unconvincingly states that readers are going to search for a flag in a box over the country name India. Please reflect on that rational. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - LouisAragon (talk) 21:56, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

So you are saying that flags shouldn't be used. Well I see USA flags everywhere doesnt matter what state I check. Same for other countries. I see flags everywhere right next to the state. Why can't you remove those flags?

Ladakh is not under dispute. Ladakh should have a flag. Kashmir is under dispute :) Also, speaking of a dispute -- Gilgit-Balistan is also a disputed territory so why can't you remove the flag of that state? I see Pakistan flag right next to it The flag of that territory is still out there. Why can't you remove the flag? Let me know when you remove it.

Also, I am a reader. I will look for a flag and each detail when it comes to India. So I am requesting you to put up the flag. If you think flags wouldnt matter then I urge you to remove the flags of all countries as readers don't care about flags.

People who are afraid can only threat to block people which in my opinion it wouldn't matter to me because of the questions I asked you and let's see what you do to resolve. You can administrator on the other side you will act like I can do whatever I want but try to solve the problem and that makes you a problem solver or else running from harder problems is not a solution.

See U.S. state#States of the United States. Feel free to check each one of the 50 states, and you will find that none of them contain the US flag in the infobox. Also, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. The flags should be removed from those pages too. Just because one page doesn't follow policy doesn't mean all other pages shouldn't. The quality of the encyclopedia would be greatly derailed if that were to happen. The flag needs to go from Gilgit-Baltistan too, and I have removed it. Contrary to your belief, Ladakh is also disputed; Pakistan claims the entire J&K state as it existed prior division. If you want to contest the policy, please open a discussion at WT:MOS.
