AFI
[edit]Hello. Can you please explain why your sole mission (thus far) at Wikipedia is to add cites to AFI awards to Wikipedia articles? Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:56, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- To provide recognition to the films which have always been undermined and unnoticed.
- Not quite sure I understand the word "undermined" or that these particular films are "unnoticed". Are you affiliated in any way with AFI?--Bbb23 (talk) 21:15, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not affiliated with AFI but I believe that certain films which have not been viewed as deserving recognition or received the appropriate amount of recognition deserve the mention of AFI and I'm trying to provide those films with the correct recognition. Don't believe me, search 'Wayne's World' or 'Wag the Dog'.
- Even assuming that whatever award or quote you're adding to the article should be included (and that would have to be evaluated on an article-by-article basis), the way you're doing it is contrary to Wikipedia's style. Sometimes, you add an entirely new section just for AFI. Sometimes, you tack your AFI material to a prose paragraph with that odd format you've chosen. Sometimes you tack it onto a table with your same format. Besides conflicting with the usual style of articles, you are also giving the AFI award undue prominence. I suggest you rethink what you're doing and how you're going about it. You might want to gain some insight from the film project as to how things are done here, and at the same time pay more attention to the existing style for awards in articles. Make yours consistent.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:28, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
