Thank you for uploading File:180Movie Banner Image.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Armbrust, B.Ed. WrestleMania XXVIII The Undertaker 20–0 20:54, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good Day,

Can you guide me on how to correct the status? The directions from wikipedia aren't very clear for a newbie like me. I went and secured permission from the copyright owners and thought I filled everything else correctly. Since its been marked for deletion it appears that i didn't do it right. Could you help me?

Thanks, Zegron (talk) 23:11, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is, that in the Facebook discussion no specific free license was given. The "explicit permission to use this image" information is not enough, as it could mean, that it could be used only on Wikipedia, which isn't compatible with Wikipedia (see: {{Db-f3}}). If the copyright holder is willing to give permission, than they should chose a free license and than follow the steps at WP:CONSENT. If not, than it can of course be used also as non-free content. I see, I will do what I can to secure the permission in a format that Wikipedia requires. If I can't get it I will try to figure out if it qualifies for non-free content. I will read up on that page too. Thanks for your help. Zegron (talk) 01:19, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
what subject do the copyright owners use in the email when they send the copyright notification to permissions-enwikimedia.org? That wasn't clear from the docs. Thanks Zegron (talk) 15:24, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by subject? This word isn't even on the page (WP:CONSENT). Armbrust, B.Ed. WrestleMania XXVIII The Undertaker 20–0 15:31, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I mean when they submit the copyright license to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. I'm trying to figure out what the email subject should be so that the people at wikipedia will be able to quickly process the license for the 180movie_banner image. WP:CONSENT doesn't give any guidance as to what they require the email subject to be so that email and license can be speedily sorted and processed. Zegron (talk) 15:36, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There needs nothing to be written, according to WP:CONSENT: "The email you send must come from an email address that we can recognize. For instance, if you are releasing a website or images from a website, your email address must be associated with the website or listed on the contact page of the website." (Associated means in this case that it ends at "@180movie.com".) Armbrust, B.Ed. WrestleMania XXVIII The Undertaker 20–0 15:43, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
ok thanks! Zegron (talk) 16:05, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help?

[edit]

Hi, Zegron! I noticed on the editing feedback board that you're finding Wikipedia isn't user friendly for new people. I'm just a beginner and I don't know if I can help you. But I know where you can go for help! Click on this: Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions, and then on the line that says Ask a question >>. This will open a question box. Explain your problem with some details and somebody who knows what they're doing will come along very quickly to help you out. They will leave a notice on your talk page when they've replied. Click on it and it will take you back to the Teahouse for the answer.

The Teahouse is a new space on Wikipedia where beginners can ask questions and get simple, friendly help. I've used it since I started a few months ago and love it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
