Val Kahl (born Valérie Kahl April 3, 1982) is a French television host, radio host, journalist, producer and actress. She is known in France for winning the Reality television competition show, "Le Grand Casting de la Télé" on NRJ12 network in 2010,[1] a Reality TV show looking for their next television host. Val Kahl has since been hosting pop culture shows and Extreme Makeover shows on NRJ12 and MCM [2] between 2010 and 2014. Well known for all of her celebrity interviews, she is now a Los Angeles-based Entertainment television and radio correspondent for the French and European medias reporting on news, movies, celebrities and lifestyle on I24News, Non Stop People, NRJ12 and "BelRTL", RTL group. She is a co-host on the show "Fashion411" streaming on BlackHollywoodLive and AfterBuzzTV an online entertainment broadcast network founded by Maria Menounos and partner Keven Undergaro [3][4] where she talks about fashion and trends between Paris and Hollywood. Also recognized as an actress in a self-produced viral parody about the ill-fated Virgin Radio interview of French TV host Enora Malagré and Pharrell Williams in 2015, which was a massive hit in the French media.[5] After relocating in Los Angeles in 2013, she founded Frenchfries production a media and production company offering a full suite of creative services for television and corporate productions.[6]

Early life

Kahl was born in Le Chesnay, France. Being a teenager she spent a lot of her time abroad in Seattle, NYC, and Durham. After she obtained her baccalaureate in literature, she studied Political Science at a preparatory school in Paris and at ILERI school. She earned a Bachelor's degree in broadcasting and communication at EFAP Paris, and completed her graduate degree at New-York Institute of Technology, and NYU. She became an intern at CBS News with the Dan Rather team.

Television career

Returning to France in 2010, Kahl was selected among hundreds of thousands of candidates to compete on a Reality TV show that was looking for their next host, 'Le Grand Casting de la Télé'.[7] She won the competition becoming the next face of NRJ12 network. She hosted her own segment on "Paris C'est Fou" from 2011 to 2012, reporting on celebrity events in Paris such as fashion shows, designers, chefs, music and films. she was a U.S Reality television expert on Le Mag Les Anges de la téléréalité talk show season 1 and 2 hosted by Matthieu Delormeau, and hosted her own segment “Val By Night”, where she reported on trends, fashion and exclusive interviews. .


She presented the show "Tellement Cannes" [8] in 2011, 2012 and 2013, a show where she opened doors to the exclusive parties, hotels, celebrity one-on-one interviews, and behind-the-scenes at the Cannes Film Festival.

She hosted "Les coulisses des NRJ Music Awards" on NRJ12 in 2012 and 2013, on which she interviewed international superstars in the music industry. She is a special correspondent for the MTV Music Awards in Belfast in 2012, and was the live voice commentator of the Grammys in 2013.

In 2012 and 2013 Kahl hosted "Une Famille Au Top", an Extreme Makeover show, coaching families in Belgium and France with her team of experts in the areas of health, style and fitness.

In 2013 she co-presented the television specials “La Nuit de la Pub Drôle” and “La Nuit de la Pub Sexy” on MCM, with television host Bruno Guillon. She presented the same year "Les 12 Résolutions de l'année 2012" on MCM Network. She made appearances as a co-host on 2 episodes of the Talk Show Touche Pas à Mon Poste on France 4 channel. Val has worked the red carpet and one on one interviews with music and movie international superstars as Sting, Mika, The Black Eyed Peas, PSY, Shakira, Jane Fonda, Jason Statham, Omar Sy and many more. She has also interviewed celebrity chefs that include Jean-François Piège and Alain Ducasse as well as top DJs Bob Sinclar and David Guetta.

In 2014, Val moved to Los Angeles and became the U.S Special correspondent for the entertainment network Non Stop People and I24News reporting on movies, news, and Hollywood.

In 2014 she is a celebrity expert on channel "Extra" in a segment about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding in Europe. As a result of this segment, Maria Menounos asked her to be a host on her online show "Fashion411" which airs on "BlackHollywoodLive" (2015-2016). She hosts her segment "Le Chaud" (Le "hot") on all trends, fashion and lifestyle between Paris and Hollywood. She interviews Beverly Johnson and other Hollywood personalities.


Val appeared on the online travel channel “Visit the USA” [9] as a food and travel expert traveling across the states of Georgia [10] and Tennessee

In 2015 Kahl was announced on the Talk show "Le Daily Mag" [11] broadcast in France on NRJ12 producing and hosting "Le Daily Mag" from Hollywood.

Radio

From 2015 to 2016 Kahl has been co-hosting “Fashion 411” on the "Black Hollywood Live" online network and AfterBuzzTV

In 2016 Val Kahl hosts a Hollywood segment on "BelRTL", RTL, "Matin Week End" hosted by radio presenter Fabrice Brouwers, reporting on news, movies, technology and lifestyle in Hollywood.

Acting

In 2013, Val Kahl played herself in the Reality Television Show “Les Sosies à Hollywood” on the TF6 network

In 2015 she wrote, produced and acted in a parody spoofing the ill fated Virgin Radio interview of French TV host Enora Malagré and Pharrell Williams. The parody became a viral online hit[12]

From 2014 to present Val is a producer for "FrenchFries Production", primarily to producing Reality TV shows and documentaries for television channels in France and Belgium, as well as commercials for Los Angeles-based lifestyle brands.

Kahl produced and appeared in online commercials for lifestyle and luxury brands such as Skylton, Taittinger, Iriswork, Le French Festival, Normandie Bakery, and the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles.

Since 2015, Kahll is the U.S. head editor for "Welcome Magazine", a French and English luxury print and online magazine and is featured in “Tendances d’Hollywod” an editorial about events, lifestyle, and French success stories in Hollywood.

Master of ceremony

In 2012, Kahl hosted the Danone World Cup in Japan, an international soccer-cup event.

In 2014, she hosted the charity fundraiser “Kay Angel” in Malibu, California, benefitting the children of Haiti.

In 2015, she presented the talent show, “Le Côte-d’Or Festival Song” in Dijon, France with French-Italian singer and personality Mario Barravecchia [13]
