Automatic or Manual:
Programming language(s): Python (pyWikibot + my framework code)
Source code available: http://hg.errant.me.uk/wikibots/src/tip/commonsbot.py
Function overview: Extending the bot functionality to monitor en.wiki
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Originally raised here and then I was asked about it on my talk page.
Edit period(s): Continuous
Estimated number of pages affected: ~50/day or less. The bot currently makes about 100 edits a day.
Exclusion compliant (Y/N): n/a
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function details: Identical to Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/CommonsNotificationBot, but instead of monitoring commons, it will monitor en.wiki image speedy deletion categories.
It will post notices in exactly the same way as it does currently - on article talk pages for images with less than 50 article uses (or 75 uses across al namespaces), and on WP:VPM for images over that limit.
Discussion
[edit]Speedily Approved. From a technical standpoint, it's the same code that was already approved. From a community standpoint, it's an expansion of the existing task that was already approved; I see no chance that this will be controversial where the original request wasn't. No need to delay this. Anomie⚔ 00:56, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
