The latest in a series of lists of Grade II* listed buildings in Somerset following the format of Grade II* listed buildings in Taunton Deane, Grade II* listed buildings in Sedgemoor and Grade II* listed buildings in North Somerset.   • Names that start with "The, A, An, etc." are sorted by the second word. Fix these that apply.

  • In the completed col, you have one instance of "1877–1880" while every other one is like "1854–6". Change one or the rest for consistency.
  • Standardised on "1877-80" format in the same way others in the series are formatted.

  • You have ref [2] awkwardly planted mid-sentence and then no ref for the rest of the sentence.
  • I would also explicitly reference the second and third sentences of the second lead para.
  • I'd re-factor the middle para of the lead, have one on the area and its size, and one on the population and its larger population centres.

  • Does everyone know what a "village cross" is?
  • Sorry I missed this one. There are lots of village crosses in this neck of the woods, but we don't really have a suitable article. Market cross is about some of the bigger versions, although the "site for trading" is about right.   • Maybe say Somerset is in west of England.
  • "The district of West Somerset covers a largely rural area covering 740 square kilometres" 1. I don't think you need "The district of", which is in the first paragraph and in the next sentence. 2. Repetition of "cover".

  • I am not clear what a village cross is. The Historic England entry on Congresbury village cross at [2] has a discussion on standing crosses, and Standing cross on Wikipedia redirects to High cross, but is a village cross a particular type of standing cross or is it just one located in a village (outside the churchyard)?
  • Further to the comment by TRM above, I'm not quite sure what to do about this. High Cross is largely about celtic decorated crosses, whereas Somerset village crosses are generally plain and in many cases where where a small market or individual trading could take place (but I can't find RS to support this). Yes they are outside of churchyards (otherwise would be labelled as "Churchyard Cross"), but even those in churchyards were sometimes used as the site of trading.— Rod talk 18:35, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • The type for "Chantry" is given as house, but surely it was designated for its features as a former chantry chapel, just as the next entry is listed as a country house, even though it is now a hotel.
