Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Good log/January 2015
Been at this for a while and I believe the good topic set is complete: all three games of the series and their constituent subarticles. czar ⨹ 23:19, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Involved comment (I wrote the music article)- I'm not sure that Lindblom belongs in this topic. While Earthbound is the most famous thing he worked on, it's not the only thing he's known for, so it's not really a child article of Earthbound in my opinion. That said, congratulations to Czar for pulling together this whole topic- it looks great overall! --PresN 03:31, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- It's the main thing he's known for, as far his coverage in reliable sources goes (and just that one game, not the series), but I'm amenable if there is consensus to strike it czar ⨹ 03:45, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support without the guy. The topic seems complete, but if you include this guy, you would have to include 3 other Japanese guys involved in the development. Nergaal (talk) 15:50, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support with minor condition: that the fandom article be framed as pertaining to the whole series, not just to EarthBound, since it includes stuff like the Mother 3 Fan Translation and Mother 4. It could also be renamed "Mother fandom" or "Mother series fandom" or something to that effect. Tezero (talk) 21:18, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Tezero, I know this came up before but I'm not sure where. In any event, I put my explanation at Talk:EarthBound_fandom#Title for posterity. While the sources refer to the series as the Mother series, the fan community is most associated with EarthBound (as in the individual English language release) in the sources, hence the title. czar ⨹ 00:43, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- I realize they're mostly fans of primarily (or only) EarthBound, but even in the U.S. I think it's usually described as the Mother series, and plenty of fan projects and activities mentioned in the article would simply be off-topic if it were only on the fandom of EarthBound, especially since it's a series that, like Final Fantasy, doesn't possess an ongoing story of any kind. Tezero (talk) 02:09, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- The way the RS put it, EarthBound fans pushed for the Mother 3 translation and then did it themselves, EarthBound fans are making a documentary, and EarthBound fans are making Mother 4. I get your point about how it appears off-topic, but the topic of that article is more distinctly EarthBound than Mother fandom. czar ⨹ 02:30, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- Fine, then do whichever unless someone else objects. Tezero (talk) 02:43, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

- Support given how the internet supports this series much more than Nintendo, not surprising to see this topic emerging. igordebraga ≠ 18:25, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

I believe these are the complete concise set of articles pertaining to the American Life era by singer Madonna. Who is she? Well you got to be kidding with that :) I have worked on these articles with @11JORN: and hope that they get promoted as GT. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:03, 6 December 2014 (UTC) --—Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:03, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
Comment/support - The article seems to be looking in plenty of good shape, but I sort of see only one problem. One of the article's photo captions have a period at the end which isn't required per WP:CAPFRAG. IPadPerson (talk) 12:06, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Ipad, let me remove it and get back to you. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 12:07, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- @IPadPerson: I have removed the periods per CAPFRAG. Would you take a look now? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 15:38, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- @IndianBio: Looks good now. Thank you for notifying me. IPadPerson (talk) 19:51, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- It is not immediately clear how is the topic is linked together. It would greatly benefit from an intro explaining the links. See Wikipedia:Featured topics/Looking Glass Studios video games. Nergaal (talk) 01:01, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Nergaal: does it look fine now? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 05:21, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, it looks good. Nergaal (talk) 12:59, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
