Help us edit Wikipedia pages related to co-operative housing in New York City. Our objective is to make information about tenant organizing more accessible for current and future movement makers, educators, and learners. No experience editing Wikipedia is required but please bring a laptop if you are able. Experienced Wikipedians will be around to help out, and we’ll be starting the edit-a-thon with a brief tutorial to cover the basics. Snacks will be provided. Please RSVP in advance; childcare is available in advance if RSVP received before November 6.
This event is held in conjunction with an exhibition at Interference Archive about the history of Homesteading in New York City, Building For Us, organized in collaboration with the Urban Homesteading Assistance Board.
No experience editing Wikipedia is required but please bring a laptop, if you have one! There will also be a limited number of laptops available for those who don't have their own. Experienced Wikipedians will be around to help out, and we’ll be starting the edit-a-thon with a brief tutorial to cover the basics.

About Interference Archive
[edit]The mission of Interference Archive is to explore the relationship between cultural production and social movements. This work manifests in an open stacks archival collection, publications, a study center, and public programs including exhibitions, workshops, talks, and screenings, all of which encourage critical and creative engagement with the rich history of social movements.
The archive contains many kinds of objects that are created as part of social movements by the participants themselves: posters, flyers, publications, zines, books, T-shirts and buttons, moving images, audio recordings, subject files, and other materials. Through our programming, we use this cultural ephemera to animate histories of people mobilizing for social transformation. We consider the use of our collection to be a way of preserving and honoring histories and material culture that is often marginalized in mainstream institutions.
As an all-volunteer organization, all members of our community are welcome and encouraged to shape our collection and programming; we are a space for all volunteers to learn from each other and develop new skills.
