[edit]WWE
[edit]I'm posting this question here for User:Ericthebrainiac, who asked me to move it here for him. His question was "Which WWE wrestlers would be on either RAW, SmackDown or ECW?" Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 00:25, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't know that Ericthebrainiac was banned from the reference desk. Should I remove this? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 00:54, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- That question doesn't make sense. It's like asking "Which NFL players would be on either the Giants, Eagles or Patriots?" Does he want rosters?--Endless Dan 12:18, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Come Get Me Big Daddy
[edit]Good evening. I am really enjoying Bioshock. The problems lies in here. I can't find the perfect tactic for fighting the Big Daddies. I find that only three weapons seem to be the most effective the shotgun, the machine gun, and the rocket shooter. The problem is that I am always low on ammo for those weapons or low on health and keep on dying over and over again. My usual tactic is to stun him for the really short time he is stun use my rocket, then my shotgun, then my machine gun, but I die in the whole entire process. Are there any other tactics I could use to destroy Big Daddies and get that sweet sweet Adam? I have asked gaming forums, but they didn't reply with something that would help me. Thank you. I appreciate the effort in answering my question. Have a positively wonderful evening.Rem Nightfall (talk) 02:58, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- It appears you are at the beginning levels. So, using advanced tactics such as Telekinesis Plasmid or Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid won't be available. You pretty much have the tactic. Get tons of health and tons of ammo (armor piercing preferred). Stun him. Race up and shot him right in the face. Run away and hide until you can get a good stun on him again. Heal. Heal. Heal. Stun him. Shoot him. Run. Heal. Heal. Heal. -- kainaw™ 11:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- I recommend you check out what this Bioshock game guide says about dealing with Big Daddies. It seems pretty thorough. But if you need more help, you might want to check out any of the guides here. Good luck! Kreachure (talk) 15:17, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
WDOUJI
[edit]Who or what is WDOUJI (Witch Doctors of Underground Jazz Improvisation)? As a budding musician from the outskirts of the capital Manila in the Philippines, I have often heard things about the album that was released a few years back but there was no details as to where they are and what happened or what's happening with them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.2.220.145 (talk) 06:19, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- There is a wikipedia article about Simon Tan, the WDOUJI bass player and composer. The other band members were Koko Bermejo (drums), Ronald Tomas (saxophone) [1] and Aya Yuson (guitar) [2]. 194.171.56.13 (talk) 10:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Wii
[edit]Why are Wii Sports and Wii Play more successful than games that are more recognisable? Interactive Fiction Expert/Talk to me 07:03, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't Wii sports packaged with the machine and thus something that almost all Wii Owners have? I would suspect the secret to their success is that they captured the 'mood' of the Wii as well as any games, they are ideal for parties and in my experience that is what makes the Wii more exciting to non-gamers than the 360/PS3 - they want some fun every so often, whereas xbox/playstation are more 'gamer' because they are generally full of single-player/network-play games rather than something you turn on and can instantly play in an interactive fashion. I haven't seen sales but presumably both these games sell well because a huge amount of the Wii market is in the family-enterainment arena. 194.221.133.226 (talk) 10:01, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't know they were, but I do know that one comes bundled with the Wii, and the other comes bundled with a second remote, for not much more than the remote costs alone. It's probably easier to get them than not to. AlmostReadytoFly (talk) 10:08, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Besides the bundling, these games are probably the most representative for gaining the interest of the 'casual gamer' market, which Nintendo has insisted on focusing on with the Wii. So, they would be interested in promoting these games the most, rather than other games which are more recognizable by regular gamers. Kreachure (talk) 15:06, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Name of the novel
[edit]Hi, I'm trying to remember the name of a novel. It's story went something like a man who finds out in the start of the novel that he's forgotten EVERYTHING about himself - name, occupation etc. He slowly finds out that he's a rocket scientist, who's been deliberately made to forget everything so that a sinister plan to blast something big goes unnoticed. I don't remember the names of the characters, but I do remember a girl called "Jean Sophie" and one "Elsie" or so. My memory says that the novel is "Countdown to Zero" by "Fredrick Forsyth", but there is no such novel by that author, and I couldn't find any novel by that name too. Can someone please help? Thanks!
--RohanDhruva (talk) 14:30, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- The Currents of Space by Isaac Asimov. Although the illustration in that article seems slightly suspicious to me, but I don't know for sure... 79.66.60.129 (talk) 03:57, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I'm sure it wasn't by Isaac Asimov. If it were such a famous author, I would've remembered :) --RohanDhruva (talk) 06:34, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- It might help to remember some more details then, if possible, as The Currents of Space fits the description perfectly right now! Do you remember if it was set in a world where people populated several planets, how far in the future (if at all) it was set? Anything else? 79.66.60.129 (talk) 16:47, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- It was a not science fiction novel, or a novel based in the future. Also, the character names do not ring a bell, and the book did not have anything to do with galaxies, stars etc. Some more help, please :) --RohanDhruva (talk) 08:07, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- Code to Zero by Ken Follett. Ack! That's a redlink. Here is a link to a synopsis of the storyline. 152.16.59.190 (talk) 10:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's the one. Thank you VERY MUCH :) --RohanDhruva (talk) 16:33, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Minor/Major
[edit]How come in music, there is only minor and major? Why can't there be minor, middle, and major? Or by extension, 1 minor, 2 minor, 1 major, and 2 major? Etc. etc.?68.148.164.166 (talk) 15:53, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Really there are others. See musical mode. --Anonymous, 22:10 UTC, June 13, 2008.
- I have a feeling the OP meant intervals. There's perfect, augmented, diminished, double augmented, and double diminished. I think you could have triple, etc., but it wouldn't be used much. Paragon12321 (talk) 20:02, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
From the list of Box office number-one films
[edit]Who's the film who made the lowest revenue? Breckinridge (talk) 15:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- There are plenty of movies that are never released (including some that are never completed) and therefore have zero revenue. DJ Clayworth (talk) 16:29, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- You Don't understand me. I'm talking about the boxoffice list that published every week. from the movies who get to number one in this list, who made the lowest revenue? Breckinridge (talk) 16:46, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- List of U.S. box office bombs might get you started. Look at the last one! --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 17:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Looking at the heading, it looks like the OP wants the film with the lowest revenue that still reached number 1, so we're looking for a fairly successful film. --Tango (talk) 21:18, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Tango's assessment of the question, though I don't know the answer. Dismas|(talk) 02:53, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

- The problem is that you have to account for inflation, which is going to make this an exercise in math and research. I know I wouldn't want to mess with it. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 18:15, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Lowest grossing #1 films from 1997 to present (it explains why only from that year on). Kreachure (talk) 22:16, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
