Alan Pearsal[edit]

The above article was deleted by a German Admin. Coming from Germany, I don't think he understands how famous Alan Pearsal is in Melbourne.

I have been working on updating the 3aw Personalities catagory and there was a need to have an article about Alan. The midnight to dawn radio slot is a community institution with the 'overnighters' club being well known and in the press in Melbourne. There is an article about Keith Macgowan and Phillip Brady and Bruce Mansfeild. All these people are part of the overnighters club and Alan Pearsal is of exactly the same stature. There is a sill situation where Simon Owens is Alan's assistant and replacement on his holidays but even he has an article.

Although not intentional, I find it hard for a German admin to unilaterally delete an Australian entry. He doesn't undertand how much of a cultural institution and how famous Alan is.

Please reinstate this article. It is actually very annoying to fill in missing information to have admin acting unilaterally who don't even understand the cultural aspects. He even deleted it before Australian admin were awake to review this Australian article. 120.17.163.101 (talk) 22:55, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orikaso[edit]

I'd like to know why my article has been deleted. The heading is ORIKASO which is origami using polypropylene. Before you delete this I'd also like to know why there are so many commercial advertisements already in the Wiki pages - Nikon, Coca Cola and so on (some pages even carrying logo's) apparently my article looked like an advertisement but it wasn't. It was informative and also is an invention with world-wide patents.

If someone would email me for a discussion on the topic that would be great.

I did make a donation too after placing the article only to find it vanish.

  •  Not done G11 seems a reasonable conclusion for an article that is clearly written with some promotional value in mind. However, I have had a closer look at this and I think the deleting admin and nominator for CSD erred as this was undoubtedly a copyright violation with at least part of the deleted text lifted directly from http://www.orikaso.com/about.php. Since Wikipedia does not care to publish copyright violations I think I can say without fear of contradiction that this article isn't coming back in this form Spartaz Humbug! 21:11, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation is NOT an issue. I own the company, intellectual property and several patents. Please can we relist my original script about this innovative new idea. It's already all over the Internet like a rash. The thousands of end-users out there would be delighted to see it on Wiki and might just make a donation too. I still think you are unfair to refuse this humble effort when you openly accept, for example, Nikon and Coca Cola which are just advertisements? — Preceding unsigned comment added by K7ventures (talkcontribs) 21:39, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Since you own the company, take a minute to carefully read WP:COI to see why using your material verbatim is a bad idea. Additionally, because copyright is a legal issue, certain steps need to be followed before this material can be used. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the steps you would need to take. HTH--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:07, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Eimantas Paltarackas[edit]

Hello,

I do apologize but today I did noticed that one of my articles has been deleted by user called Renata3. The reason of deletion stated "No indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion: total advertising". I never meant to make it look as an advertisement, never had such intentions. I provided a short story of his life, biography.

For many years it has been published on Wiki and suddenly now it's been deleted for such an unlikely reason. I can clearly confirm that the person that I wrote this article about is a talented public radio personality. He is currently working into broadcasting industry in United Kingdom, as well working on projects with the British Broadcasting Corp. too. If necessary, I can prove it.

Please, is there anything that can be done to undelete this article?
Accept my apologie once again and thank you so much for taking your time on this matter. Regards, Sean.

  • No apologies necessary, but unfortunately we can't unilaterally restore this article. It was deleted as a speedy deletion, which allows administrators to remove articles which give no indication of meeting our inclusion criteria. In this case, the deleting administrator had two concerns, the inclusion guidelines and our guidelines on advertisement. In order to meet our inclusion criteria, a subject must be covered in signficant detail by multiple reliable sources. If you can find those, you may ask the deleting administrator to restore it or ask that another admin restore it at deletion review. I hope that helps. Protonk (talk) 21:54, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Protonk for your help. I honestly appreciate what you'd sujested for me so the article could be restored. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sean Todd Lewis (talkcontribs) 18:33, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cindy Sampson[edit]

Recently there was an up and coming actress Cindy Sampson deleted from wikipedia, For those of her fans that follow her work to state that she is an unnotable B-Movie Actress is a defamation of her character. We believe the film's and television shows she is listed as appearing in are notable and they do include her in the cast credits. Cindy is slated to not only appear in but star in upcoming films. She is a growing well known actress to her growing fan base.

Please put her page back up and allow the world to view her.

concern was: Unnotable B-movie actress. No significant coverage in reliable, third party sources. Most films she's listed as appearing in are not even notable enough for inclusion themselves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.192.48.34 (talk) 01:58, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Done. Restored as a contested PROD. Please note that this article may still be nominated for deletion, which is a more binding form of deletion. The best way to guard against that is to provide reliable sources which cover the subject in significant detail. Also, it is not defamation of character to argue that a person may not meet our inclusion criteria, which are neutral and relatively well enumerated. I have restored this page only because contested prods may be restored automatically, not because the world can "view her". Specifically, wikipedia is not a directory of actors and actresses. That is imDb's job. Protonk (talk) 21:48, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bogumiła Żongołłowicz[edit]

Realised just now that this article has been deleted. I consider this as a misunderstanding as the person is quite well known in Australian Polish Community. Maybe there was a lack of citations in English and probably the name should be spelled with simple Latin letters to make it more obvious that it should stay. To begin with: is it possible that I get the contents of deleted article to review it? Pplu (talk) 04:27, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Done. The article and all its history is now at User:Pplu/Bogumiła Żongołłowicz. Please review the deletion discussion and once you have corrected the reasons for deletion (with pointers to sources satisfying WP:V), you may move it back to mainspace. Please understand that although non-english language sources are acceptable, editors may be skeptical of them because it is difficult for an english speaker to verify their content or importance. Peppermint Parlour[edit]

This article was deleted because "nonnotable band, doesn't look like they were ever signed to a label".

They were signed to a small Cardiff label Apex Records and released a single in 1986. Their profile has increased in the last 5 years where a 19 song CD was issued and also have a cult following in Japan.

The lead singer is Alan Thompson, currently working as a DJ/Presenter for BBC Wales.

The band is still known and remembered and also have some tunes placed by fans on You Tube and have a lot of listeners on Last.fm

It would be great for Wiki to allow this article so as to allow fans to read and remember them — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.0.118.5 (talk) 09:26, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gordon Basichis[edit]

I have no idea why my page was deleted. It is truly ridiculous. I am a published author of three different books, all with the listed ISBN numbers. One book was a bestseller, Beautiful Bad Girl, and stills sells today. The Guys Who Spied for China is a brand new release, also with the listed ISBN number. The Constant Travellers was published by Putnams and also has its ISBN number. It was also optioned for a film at two major studios. Twentieth Century Fox and MGM. As for Beautiful Bad Girl, the Vicki Morgan Story, the book is now being optioned for film rights. It is an ongoing story that has lasting power both in the news and is studied by true crime aficionados and others. Why this would be deleted is beyond me. Much of the posting has been on your site for years now, and I find it strange that someone would now choose to delete it without asking or checking first.

AJAST_(programming)[edit]

Please consider restoring the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAST_(programming) page.

It happened that the only article regarding this particular programming technique has been removed.

This topic is not being covered in related wikipedia pages.

It was useful despite the term wasn't widely known.

We don't have better name anyway and this is alone is not good enough reason for deleting a useful article.

Content of this article hasn't been transferred/migrated to Ajax article as it has been proposed in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/AJAST_(programming)

VitaMan USA[edit]

I created a page describing the VitaMan skincare company and product line. Apparently it was deleted for advertising issues. I understand Wikipedia's stance now on this, as I didn't before...however, I would I will continue to go through numerous other similar companies listed on Wikipedia and request and expect their deletion also. Such as Clarins, Lancome, and MANY others.

Why are these other skincare companies allowed to be indexed here but not mine? Please let me know what my misunderstanding is.

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards, Richard —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmichelli (talkcontribs)

It's not that VitaMan will never have an article on Wikipedia; the problem was that your article was written like an advertisement, not like an unbiased encyclopedia article. This is exactly why people with a conflict of interest are strongly discouraged from writing about topics where they have that conflict -- it's difficult for them to see the bias in their writing because they care so deeply about the subject. (If you didn't, you wouldn't be human.)

Scott Kennedy[edit]

Article was uncontroversially deleted on 29 March 2007 by Bobet with the reason "Non-notable buisness [sic] owner and unsuccessful politician")

This implies that some given level of notability was insufficient, and was unchallenged. But reading the Wikipedia "Content Policy" on "Biographies of Living Persons", and perusing the thousands of non-notable biographies, it seems there is sufficient publicly verifiable published material on this individual to merit inclusion. Thank you for your consideration.

One Media Player per Teacher[edit]

I want to re-post the article I made, One Media Player per Teacher (OMPT). It was deleted because of spam or conflict with another topic. I'm having problems with the credibility of the references I suppose. However this is a newly formed nonprofit organization, so the resources are limited.

I work for OMPT and was assigned to post the Wikipedia article for the organization, so all of the information is credible and taken directly from the OMPT website (www.ompt.org). I work directly under the Executive Director, so there shouldn't be any problems, right?

I mistakenly named the article "One Media Player per Child" the first time I posted it, and sent an email requesting it get deleted because of the title error. Maybe that has something to do with the article being deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oborrows (talkcontribs) 19:03, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the article as a contested prod, however I'd suggest you deal with the objections to the references quickly or the article will likely end up at articles for deletion. If references showing notability aren't out there because the organization is new, it may be a bit soon for a Wikipedia article on them.
Also read WP:COI. Because you work for the organization, there are problems with you (or anyone connected with the organization) editing the article because it will be difficult for you to write in an unbiased manner. Please let your Executive Director that Wikipedia is not the venue to advertise the organization. (See WP:COI and WP:SPAM.) HTH!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:04, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reframe It[edit]

Please undelete this article.

The article was deleted based on G4: Recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion. The page was previously deleted in July, 2009 because it lacked Notable sources. The page was later created with new information (the page was not identical) and many notable sources, including the New York times and other sources that are identified as notable on other Wikipedia articles. As such (and as stated under G4) "the reason for the deletion no longer applies."

Thus it cannot be marked for speedy deletion under G4, and should not have been deleted.

The page was marked for speedy deletion today, November 19th, after Reframe It received press coverage yet again by New York Times technology online, and has already been deleted, without any discussion.

Paul Welday[edit]

Paul Welday is a politician and business man of Oakland County. He is challenging incumbent Gary Peters in Michigan's Ninth Congressional District, and is widely regarded as the best Republican candidate by local politicians (see the page itself). He is endorsed for the office by prominent Oakland County names, such as ex-Congressman Joe Knollenberg and Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. He had previously served as the former's chief of staff. Paul Welday's name already appears several times on Wikipedia, and when the link is clicked on, a page suggesting creating a page arises. Please note his appearance and prominence in United States House of Representatives elections, 2010 under Michigan's Ninth District.

Part 3 under notable enough to be in an encyclopedia states: "although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion of 'significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article.'" Welday has received significant coverage by the County's primary newspaper (The Oakland Press), as well as Metro Detroit's WWJ Newsradio 950 AM, and the Detroit News/Free Press. This coverage by "secondary sources" clearly qualifies his spot on Wikipedia.

The reason given was that Paul Welday does not meet Wikipedia notability standards. For the reasons above, it seems, however, that he does. It should be noted that the individual who deleted this page, Orangemike is ideologically opposed and also dissented of prominent Republican Party members on his personal page. He indicated that felt George W. Bush should be "prosecuted".

If the issue is that I need to add more information to build credibility, I have no problem doing so, but please let me know either way.

Thanks for your time. Soccer4926 (talk) 23:37, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm new to this. Don't understand why the page Aramram was deleted. This is an actual website and the description I placed of it is accurate. It has been covered by the local media (Arabic language) as well as local Jordanian bloggers and websites. While the site doesn't have international importance, the fact that it is the 1st Arabic-language Jordanian WebTV geared towards a Jordanian audience makes it have at least some local significance. This is attested by the fact that in the 5 months since its launch it is one of the top 200 sites visited in Jordan..... thanx —Preceding unsigned comment added by E.hamam (talkcontribs)
