- Template:NOEDITSECTION (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Unused and utterly pointless template, which takes more keystrokes to type than would typing _NOEDITSECTION_ directly. ‑ Iridescent 19:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
KeepIt might take two extra keystrokes but for for the majority of wikipedia editors, who are familiar with templates but not with magic words, it's easier to learn and remember. Most magic words I know of have corresponding templates (like {{INDEX}} or {{NOTOC}}) and in fact if all had them then there'll be a benefit for the overall learnability of wikipedia. – Uanfala (talk) 20:48, 16 October 2016 (UTC)- After reading Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Why is the use of magic word templates discouraged?, I guess it's best to either delete, or make it automatically substable. – Uanfala (talk) 13:45, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- Comment it's exactly the same number of keystrokes, since you need two pairs of underscores, not one, as in
__NOEDITSECTION__
. See H:MW#Behavior switches. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:53, 17 October 2016 (UTC) - Please keep! GXXF T • C 20:28, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
- delete. Pointlessly duplicates the magic word, which works fine without a template, and would just increase the number of things editors need to know to recognise it and the magic word. The other examples are not relevant as they are used and have extra functionality and non-trivial histories. This is new & unused.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 20:50, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

This family of templates all rely on the {{(pf)-meta}} template, which was previously nominated for deletion with a result of "delete." The templates themselves link to subsections of the Help:Extension:ParserFunctions page. This is a formal nomination to delete these templates as a) unused, and b) potentially unusable if (pf)-meta is deleted. Primefac (talk) 16:18, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- delete, we don't need them. Frietjes (talk) 17:30, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- Delete What the hey do these do anyway? The only one with
{{documentation}}
is Template:(pf)ifexist:, and it's just an empty doc box. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:10, 17 October 2016 (UTC)- Redrose64, these templates add a link to the ParserFunctions page, such as
{{(pf)-meta|if}}
showing{{(pf)-meta|if}}
(see the testcases for more examples). The above templates are hard-coded instances of (pf)-meta. Primefac (talk) 04:34, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

- Keep and undelete {{(pf)-meta}} and rename it to {{parserfunction}} as a template similar to {{tl}} for parserfunctions. Pppery 01:36, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
