[edit]Review of User:Matthew.brazil/sandbox
[edit]Greetings. I have submitted my draft for review, but the system is telling me that the title (Frederick Carle Teiwes) already exists. Yet my search using these words and variations does not turn up any such page. Am I missing something?
Thanks, Matthew.Brazil Matthew.brazil (talk) 01:17, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- It's a bug, because your article is in your sandbox. Just ignore that message :) ~Charmlet -talk- 02:58, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi there,
Just wondering why my recent submission was declined?
Thanks,
Phil

- You provided no examples of significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. Please read the decline message for more information (the red box at the top). ~Charmlet -talk- 02:58, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi I am not sure why my article for Ballet BC was rejected? It included valid references to their website. Thank you! Aliceko17 (talk) 02:56, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Their own website is not an independent reference, as required to establish notability. ~Charmlet -talk- 02:58, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
1) Thanks to the helpful person who answered my question about categories for my David Tineo Draft article. Given that I'm so entirely clueless, however, I referred to Wikipedia: The Missing Manual, which suggested I simply add an uncategorized template to my article -- via {{uncat|date=Month Year}} -- and implied that I should delete the confused mess I've made of the categories currently in my draft. Useful idea? Or the ravings of a loon?
2) Should I remove the word *Draft* in the title of my submitted article, so it just reads David Tineo? Or will this happen automatically when/if my article gets moved to article space?
My gratitude again,
El Mangosta ElMangosta (talk) 03:43, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- The category links you have added are fine, they will change to actual categories when the article arrives in mainspace, drafts may not contain "live" categories. The title will also be fixed when it is moved. I've done a little cleaning up for you. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:51, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Reviewed, accepted and moved to David Tineo. It is currently an orphan - you can help by linking other articles to it. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 14:10, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Zenith Insurance (2)
Both myself and my colleague have submitted articles for Zenith insurance, around 8 at this point in time, all of which have been rejected. The latest was 9 sentences long, each sentence was a fact and each fact was backed by an online source, additionally all adjectives were removed. Yet still it was declined. There is literally nothing else we can do, there is no way we can make this more neutral and factual.
Tell me what to do/change and I will do it. Please.
Kind regards,
Sebastianoliver01 (talk) 09:33, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- You seem to engage in creative omission of facts. For example, the very first source I looked at that covered Zenit in some detail mentioned that they were "disposed of" for making losses - that somehow didn't make it into the article, and it doesn't inspire the least confidence that you haven't cherry-picked the other facts as well. Also, multiple of the sources you use are actually written by the company itself; those obviously are not independent. My advice would be to not write about your own company; see also our guideline on conflicts of interest. Huon (talk) 01:30, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
I created the following articles several weeks ago in the advanced section; Donny Hay and Michael Yellowlees. Could someone please quickly review them for me.
Many thanks, Gomach (talk) 14:06, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- I have done so, but both articles are in dire need of improvement. One has a single third-party source that covered the subject in some detail, the other doesn't show any significant coverage. Were it not for the ridiculously low notability criteria for sportspersons I'd have proposed both articles for deletion. Huon (talk) 01:30, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Hello
I have created a Wiki article for Movie Aagadu and submitted for review. Now the title of the article is changed automatically to Aagadu (2) what does it mean. can any one help me in this regard.
Kpintu (talk) 14:34, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- That means we already have another draft named "Aagadu", so a "(2)" was appended to keep them apart. That said, movies for which production hasn't even started usually aren't considered notable. Huon (talk) 01:30, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Resident Power Natural Gas & Electric Solutions, LLC
[edit]I have submitted an article to wikipedia and it says my article is number 2022 in line for reviews and this can take months to finish. Is wikipedia having issues with their site? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ResidentPower11 (talk • contribs) 15:26, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- No, but the reviews are all done by volunteer editors so it takes time. But from a quick look I will say that your draft is likely to be rejected because it reads like an advertisement and that your username will probably be blocked as a violation of our WP:CORPNAME policy.--ukexpat (talk) 19:59, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Greetings,
I recently submitted an article on a notable music artist, Little & Ashley. Their music is known worldwide and has millions of YouTube views as a result of, among other things, several high-profile Amazon Kindle commercial ad campaigns that ran on broadcast and cable television. Although I included 9 independent references in the article I received a rejection notice recently and am not sure I understand the reasoning behind this. Could someone please help clarify for me why the references were not deemed sufficient?
Thank you,
Unclemiltyv (talk) 15:33, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Milton
- Of your nine references, two are Amazon, which has a commercial interest in Little & Ashley's success - it's neither independent nor a reliable source. Another two are YouTube channels, which aren't subject to any editorial oversight and are not reliable either. The KTLA website linked to doesn't even mention them. Whether the MTV blog is reliable is debatable, but it doesn't write so much as a single sentence about them - that's hardly significant coverage. The Zink Magazine link is broken, and a search for the article came up empty. Entertainment Weekly writes a single sentence about them. That leaves us with a single source that covers them in any detail; that's not enough to establish that the group is notable. If they're as well-known as you say, surely additional reliable third-party sources can be found? Huon (talk) 01:30, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi Wikipedia -
I'm a little new to this and tried submitting an article for creation 20 days ago. When I view the article now there's a grey box at the top that says the article is not currently submitted for review, however when I scroll to the bottom there is a yellow box that says review waiting. I understand the process is backlogged but want to make sure my article has been submitted properly and is actually in queue for review. Might you be able to check on this for me? The article is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/BioCision
Many thanks.
Adamjdaley3 (talk) 16:15, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Dear Adamjdaley3: I am sorry that it is taking so long for your article to be reviewed. For some reason this month we have many, many people wanting to create articles. Your submission is definitely in the review queue, so I have removed the grey draft template. —Anne Delong (talk) 00:16, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
- The draft was just reviewed, but unfortunately it was not yet accepted. The reviewer has left a comment at the page with suggestions for improvement.
- In general, as long as there is a "review waiting" message on the page, it is indeed awaiting review. Huon (talk) 01:34, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi Wekipedians, I want to submit an article regarding a park located in my place. May I know how to proceed with the submission process?
--Among Imsong (talk) 16:43, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Which page are you referring to? Nature Park Ungma already exists as an article although it has been tagged for deletion.--ukexpat (talk) 19:55, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Any idea why this was rejected? All it says in the comments section is 'Null'.
Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Julianna_Forlano Thank you!
AlFeldzamen (talk)Al —Preceding undated comment added 20:15, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- The page doesn't show that Forlano is notable. We need not what she has written, but what others have written about her, and we need inline citations to clarify which of the sources supports which of the draft's statements. Huon (talk) 01:34, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Oh I see. Ok. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.255.108.173 (talk) 20:53, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Eryka Kane Prior Deletion of page is of concern please advise why page was deleted and what action I can take against the party who is deleting the page without good cause
[edit]I have some crazy person deleting my page while it is properly cited and indeed about a notable figure I want this matter cleared up immediately or I will be forced to take legal steps against the individual who keeps deleting my page without cause. I have now submitted the page for review although I should not have to do so as Eryka Kane is already cited on wikipedia. She is accredited platinum and this is well documented.
Please Advise. Chyna100Chyna100 (talk) 21:37, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- The page was deleted because it was unduly promotional and largely relied on sources that were unreliable or not independent of the subject. Also, Wikipedia has a policy stating that you can either edit or threaten legal action, not both. Consequently you have been blocked from editing and will remain so unless and until you retract the legal threats. Huon (talk) 01:34, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi. I am confused about why the article was not accepted. Joey Cupido plays in the professional NLL, the highest lacrosse league in the world. Many other NLL lacrosse players have wikipedia pages. Joey Cupido was named to the NLL all rookie team in 2013, making him one of the highest profile young lacrosse players in the game. Also noteworthy is the fact that he is an All Canadian football player at McMaster university when he isn't playing professional lacrosse. Do you need more references/sources?
Thanks

- Apparently the reviewer made a mistake here. However, the draft could do with quite some improvement anyway. For example, you should not just provide bare URLs as references; see WP:Referencing for beginners on how to easily create nicely-formatted footnotes. Also, many of the sources mention Cupido only in passing, some not at all, and others are his own teams' websites, not quite independent sources. Huon (talk) 01:34, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks you for the answer. I will improve the article and resubmit. I appreciate your efforts.
