[edit]

My contribution draft page - 'Kanchana V Subbarathnam' on wiki was deleted without my permission! How can my work be deleted without confirming with me about the copyright of materials I used? Kanchana V Subbarathnam was my father. He was a violin legend and truly deserved to be on wiki for his achievements. I had no personal benefits or any kind of selfishness in creating this page, but a lot of his fans in carnatic music world would have loved to read about him. I had owned everything I posted and the website kanchanasisters.com was created by me. Please kindly add the deleted page back and if any edits need to be done, I will do it accordingly.

@JamieG01: Did you have a specific question? To request that your draft be reviewed, click the white button that says "Submit your draft for review", which is located inside the grey box at the top. jcc (tea and biscuits) 20:00, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jcc: Thanks - sorry yes I did, I thought I posted it but clearly it's not here. I ended up creating two pages by mistake: Draft:Success_at_School and Draft:Success_at_School2. I want to have Draft:Success_at_School reviewed and published but it now redirects to Draft:Success_at_School2 for some reason. I'd like to know the simplest way to resolve this. Thank you.
@JamieG01: Right now, it appears to be the other way around -- the "School2" draft redirects to the "School" draft. Is this not the correct arrangement? NewYorkActuary (talk) 11:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jcc: Yes, you're right, I was mistaken in my previous post. Ideally, I would like to publish Draft:Success_at_School with the final content. Creating a second page and a redirect was a mistake. Thanks.

Hi,

My submission 'Quill Content' has been declined due to lack of 'reliable sources'. Are you able to point me in the right direction as to which sources are classed as 'unreliable' so I can then amend these and ensure your directions are noted for the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Elise Johnson (talk) 09:53, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Elise Johnson: Hello, Elise. Out apologies for the very great delay in response. Later today, I'll start a discussion on the draft's Talk page (and I'll notify you when I do this). NewYorkActuary (talk) 11:57, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

THIS PAGE B4BONAH WAS A BIOGRAPHY PAGE OF AN ARTIST IN GHANA, BUT UPON CREATING THE PAGE IT WAS DELETED REASON BEING THE PAGE HAD NO CREDIBLE SOURCE, Ghost122 (talk) 11:58, 19 July 2017 (UTC) Ghost122 (talk) 11:58, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ghost122. See WP:MUSICBIO for an explanation of how to show that a musician such as Draft:B4bonah is notable. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:44, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for getting back to me .. so now the page is deleted .. how can i recreate Draft:B4bonah again after reading WP:MUSICBIO --Ghost122 (talk) 07:01:43, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ghost122: Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. I find no evidence that Draft:B4bonah had ever been deleted. Feel free to continue working on it. NewYorkActuary (talk) 11:20, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ghost122: For future reference, there's no need to start a new section in order to continue a conversation on a talk page. The convention is to indent your reply one step more than what you're replying to, an effect achieved by starting with one more colon than the earlier text.
If I were writing an article about Joe Mettle, for example, I would see that he probably satisfies criterion #8 of WP:MUSICBIO. So my first sentence would be something like "Joe Mettle is a Ghanaian gospel musician who won Artiste of the Year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards.[1]" In addition to the Daily Graphic article, I would cite at least two other independent articles from major newspapers or magazines that each contain at least a few paragraphs about Mettle and his work.
The consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/B4bonah was that the article failed to demonstrate notability. The way to get Draft:B4bonah accepted and moved into article space is to improve it to the point where it clearly states, in the first sentence or two, why he is notable, and backs the claim up with significant coverage in multiple, independent, reliable sources. One of the most common novice mistakes it to think that a brief mention on any website is a good source. It isn't. Look for substantive articles in publications like The Ghanaian Chronicle, Daily Guide, or News Ghana that don't simply repeat a press release from him or a company with which he's connected. If such articles don't exist, then it may be too early in his career for Wikipedia to have an article about him. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:12, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 12:05:45, 19 July 2017 for assistance on AfC submission by Peter's Railway

[edit]

I am trying to set up a page - Peter's Railway, however our submission keeps on being declined due to it's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. We have numerous references which are independent and show how notable Peter's Railway is as a children's book series.

Can you give me further advise on how to get this article approved. Thanks

Is there anyone who can help me make an article. I find it so complicated using so many codes. I would think that this is only for those who have a technical knowledge on codes. Do you have any simplified version of making an article for wikipedia? )r is there anyone from you who can do it for me? Or do I have to find someone who knows?

Thank you very much and I hope you can help me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theedukcircle (talkcontribs) 12:10, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theedukcircle. The place to ask for an article to be written is Wikipedia:Requested articles. That route is infinitely easier than writing an article yourself, but will still require reading and following instructions, doing research, and very basic editing. If you find the wiki interface so complicated that you can't even use it to get the help you need, consider looking for a Wikipedia:Meetup near you. Everyone is welcome, and volunteers are there to help in person. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:31, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Goodmorning, I found a very interesting argument that your wikipedia website has not inside. It's about the artist Cesare Catania. I will go to his next exhibition in Monaco in September 2017 but I noticed your website doesn't tell anything about him even if the international press talk about him. Very strange. Why didn't you accept my contribution? Did I do any editing errors while writing? Kind regards. Paul

Anacleto0000 (talk) 17:05, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Anacleto0000: The sources cited in User:Anacleto0000/sandbox/Cesare Catania are press releases and advertorials. To demonstrate notability, significant coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources is required. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:18, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking for assistance with "notable" and "reliable sources." Full disclosure -- I'm a paid editor and the page is for my CEO, so I'm coming at this from a biased perspective. However, the sources we offer up include multiple features about him/the company by Reuters and trade publications AdWeek, SpaceNews and Spaceflight Now. I've appreciated and agreed with all of the editor feedback on previous submissions and have made substantial changes as a result. I'm open to doing that again, but I'm not sure where to start in this case and appreciate any suggestions you have. Thank you very much. ULA christa (talk) 23:29, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
