listing status
[edit]- Ihm House (Guttenberg, Iowa) with date April 13, 1983, at 127 N. First St., Guttenberg, Iowa. NRHP listing status code "DR" which stands for registration pending, which may since have been converted to a regular NRHP listing. The property is covered in Guttenberg MRA. --doncram (talk) 18:40, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

- Charles F. and and Ruth Chase House in Cass County: clearly don't need two "and"s. Nyttend (talk) 04:51, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Cedar Falls Independent Order of Odd Fellows Temple is the name, ending with "Temple", of the site listed in NRIS as "Cedar Falls Independent Order of Odd Fellows". The full name with temple makes sense, and is given in the nomination document; the NRIS cut-off name is a data entry error apparently. --doncram 22:27, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

Town location issues
[edit]- U.S. Post Office (Des Moines, Iowa). It's NRIS-listed in Des Noines, Iowa, should be M not N. Refnum=74002323. doncram (talk) 17:12, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- batch04:09
- Bethel Church in Louisa County, Iowa, listed as being northeast of Morning Star, Iowa, but the actual place is Morning Sun, Iowa. Nyttend (talk) 21:46, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- batch04:10
- Buchanan County Court House (Independence, Iowa), located in Buchanan County, Iowa, is identified as being in 216 5th Ave., Iowa, when it should be identified as being in Independence, Iowa. Its NRIS coordinates place it in Independence, Iowa. This is the correct street address; it is listed properly in the "location" section. Nyttend (talk) 15:05, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- batch04:11
- Stone House (LeClaire, Iowa) and Stone School (LeClaire, Iowa) are located in LeClaire, Iowa, not "Le Claire, Iowa" as NRIS lists the name. Correction is to remove space, make it one word not two words. Noted by Ctf in this edit whose edit summary gives a URL to document the corrected name, a link to an article at here. --doncram (talk) 20:47, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Actually the correction applies to 19 Scott County, Iowa listings in LeClaire:
- Cody Road Historic District
- Dawley House
- James Gamble House
- Horton-Suiter House
- Kattenbracher House
- LONESTAR
- McCaffrey House
- Old Mill House
- Rambo House
- John Smith House
- Stone House
- Stone School
- Jacob Suiter House
- John H. Suiter House
- William Suiter House
- George Tromley, Jr. House
- George Tromley, Sr. House
- Samuel Van Sant House

- I guess since Nyttend says 2 words is how the Census and GNIS spells it, then I guess that is how it should be spelled. CTJF83 chat 02:26, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- --doncram (talk) 20:57, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Williges Building (1930), 613-615 Pierce St., is reported in NRIS2013a as being in Siouz City, IA; surely it should be Sioux City, IA --Doncram (talk) 13:53, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Street address
[edit]- Sergeant Floyd Monument is indicated by an IP to be on Lewis Rd., not Louis Rd.. Its NRIS listing is "Glenn Ave. and Louis Rd.", corrected in wikipedia article to "Glenn Ave. and Lewis Rd., Sioux City, Iowa. Google maps shows it to be S. Lewis Rd. No way to know if Louis was once correct, but it appears to be incorrect now, or Google maps has a mistake. doncram (talk) 16:30, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- batch06:06
- The Oakland, William, Round Barn near Blairsburg in Hamilton County, Iowa is supposedly located off U.S. Route 68, a highway that runs exclusively in Ohio and Kentucky. I suppose it is off it (although rather extremely :-), but more likely it's a typo for U.S. Route 69, which runs through Blairsburg. Nyttend (talk) 21:13, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- batch06:07
- The Wolters Filling Station in Davenport, Iowa is listed at "1229 Washngton St." Nyttend (talk) 02:10, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
- batch06:08
- Land and Loan Office Building in Algona is listed at 123 W. State St., but actually at 123 E. State St. — the local Chamber of Commerce is located in that building, and their address is 123 E. State. Nyttend (talk) 13:10, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
- Daniel Nelson House and Barn near Oskaloosa is listed along Iowa Highway 1, but coords and its HABS listing both show it along Glendale Road; Iowa Highway 1 is nowhere near Oskaloosa. Nyttend (talk) 13:30, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- Immanuel Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Kimballton, Iowa, is given location in NRIS of "W. Second St., E. side", but it is not on the east side of Kimballton. Per its NRHP nomination document, it is on the East side of W. Second St. and it overlooks the east side of Kimballton, which is perhaps different. Change location to "E. side of W. Second St." or just to "W. Second St." --doncram 17:08, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Coordinates issues
[edit]- Roosevelt Elementary School in Waterloo, Iowa has coords that place it in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Nyttend (talk) 03:59, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- batch02:07
Architects, builders, engineers
[edit]- For The Capitol Theater, 211 N. Third St. Burlington, IA, the architectural firm's name is misspelled as "Wetherall & Harrison", when correct spelling has no "A" in first name. It is Frank E. Wetherell who has numerous works with Harrison and others that are NRHP-listed
- The architect William L. Steele, who has multiple buildings NRHP-listed, is incorrectly listed in NRIS2013a as "William I. Steele" for two:
- James P. Newton House and Maid Cottage see [NRHP document for it], which shows William L. Steele clearly multiple times.
- Sioux City Public Library-North Side Branch, whose NRHP document also shows William L. Steele clearly.
Other issues
[edit]- Bridge near West Liberty in Muscatine County: The Elkman tool returns "Architecture: welded steel rigig frame". I suspect that the penultimate word should be "rigid", unless it's a highly esoteric engineering term. Ammodramus (talk) 15:32, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Onawa IOOF Opera House was built in 1900, in fact, very clearly reiterated in its nomination document as there was a fire later in the year, not in 1907 as NRIS reports.
