Yook Sungjae (Korean: 육성재; Hanja: 陸性材[1] ; born (1995-05-02)May 2, 1995) is a South Korean idol, actor, singer, dancer and member of the South Korean boy group BtoB. He was a cast member in the variety show Real Men. He is best known for his roles in Plus Nine Boys (2014) and Who Are You: School 2015 (2015).

Career

Pre-debut

Before debuting as a member of BtoB, Sungjae acted in jTBC’s 'Living In Chungdamdong' [3] as Invincible Chungdam No. 5 member, along with fellow members Seo Eunkwang, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon, and former BtoB member Lee Minwoo (now C-Clown member T.K).

2012: Debut as BtoB member

The group has released one mini-album (along with an Asia Special Edition)[4] and three singles. Together with Ilhoon and Minhyuk, they took part in writing lyrics for “비밀(Insane)”, their debut song.[citation needed]

Solo Activities

In July 2014, Sungjae became a presenter for the program, A Song For You with Kangin of Super Junior and Amber of f(x).[5][6]

In 2014, he was cast in a main role in the television drama Plus Nine Boys. He played Kang Min-gu.[7][8] He was a former cast member in the variety show Real Men in 2014 to 2015.[9] In 2015, He acts as a male lead role in the drama, Who Are You: School 2015 as Gong Tae-kwang, alongside Kim So-hyun.[10][11]

In 2015, he joined the season 4 of reality show We Got Married as on-screen husband of Red Velvet's Joy.[12] In September of that year, it was announced that he would play the male lead in the upcoming mystery drama The Village: Achiara's Secret alongside Moon Geun-young.[13]
