Ashfield railway station is a station located on the Main Suburban railway line of the CityRail network. It is located in the Sydney suburb of Ashfield and features five platforms (two city bound, two outward bound, and one used as a turnback to the city). It is currently serviced by the South Line, the Inner West Line, and up until 2001, the Western Line.
The station has Easy Access facilities accessed from the overhead pedestrian bridge, incorporating the booking office. Before completion of those facilities, the platforms were accessed from two pedestrian subways which incorporated separate booking offices. The western subway remains as a pedestrian thoroughfare. The station can be accessed via Brown Street (at the Hercules Street intersection) or via Station Street.
There is semi-secure cycle parking provided with racks available on both the northern and southern sides of the station. There is access to a number of cycle friendly routes to both the harbour and the city and to the south and west.
