Jesse Jane (born Cindy Taylor[1][2] on July 16,[4][6] 1980[3]) is an American pornographic actress and model.

Early life

Jane was a military brat who grew up on various military bases in the Midwestern United States. She did extensive dance training[3] and was a varsity cheerleader at her high school in Rose Hill, Kansas. She graduated from Moore High School in Moore, Oklahoma in 1998.[7]

Career

Jane read an article on Tera Patrick that said that Patrick worked for adult-film production company Digital Playground. She contacted them and was quickly signed to a contract.[8] Her first scene was with Devon in No Limits.[8] Within months of winning the contract, she appeared on Showtime Network's Family Business, where she was filmed at the Adult Video News awards show and convention. Jane appeared on the cover of Texas-based metal band Drowning Pool's second album Desensitized and was featured in the music video for the album's first hit single, "Step Up." She has said that Drowning Pool is one of her favorite bands. On the July 25, 2006 episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, during the "Jay Walking" segment, she gave her name as "Cindy" and said that she currently worked at Hooters. An adult magazine cover featuring her as Jesse Jane was then shown onscreen.[9] In 2005, she was featured as UnRated Magazine's Vixen, to launch the music review magazine's new edition of Vixens. The films in which Digital Playground cast Jane, such as No Limits, Beat the Devil, and Loaded, proved popular enough to warrant her own line of sex toys, as well as secure nominations for several awards. She starred in the erotic film series "Pirates".

With fellow Digital Playground contract performers Devon and Teagan Presley, Jane co-hosts the live, Internet-based adult industry talk show DP Tonight. The show features industry gossip, adult film star guests, and audience/host interactivity. She was a guest star on the HBO dramedy series Entourage, in the ninth episode of the second season, "I Love You Too", which features the foursome making a trip to Comicon, where they get some help from the "Pussy Patrol," of which Jane is the leader. In March 2006, Jane and Kirsten Price became the hosts of Playboy TV's most popular live show, Night Calls. In addition, Jane also hosts Playboy TV's Naughty Amateur Home Videos[10] and has been the sex columnist for Chéri, with contributions since the January 2007 issue.[11] In 2007, Jesse also became a sex columnist for the Australian men's magazine Ralph, replying to letters from readers about sex and dating.[12] In 2009 Jesse appeared in the reality series The Bad Girls Club. In a 2009 CNBC documentary titled Porn: Business of Pleasure, Jesse is the focus of the final 10-minute segment, which details her career and her life outside the porn industry.

In January 2007, an article in The New York Times stated that Jane intended to have her breast enhancement surgery re-done for high-definition movies.[13] On her official website, she wrote that she had her surgery on February 12 that year.

Jane was the Australian Penthouse Pet of the Month in November 2010.[14]

In January 2011 she was named by CNBC as one of the 12 most popular stars in porn.[15] CNBC stated that she is "for many, the face of modern porn", noting her roles in two popular porn Pirates films, and her performer of the year nominations by both AVN and the XBIZ Awards. In March that same year Jane launched her own line of tequila called "Diosa" with blue agave silver tequila, along with apple, mango, almond and café caramel flavored varieties. Jane will appear in ads for the Diosa, but will be using her real name since Digital Playground owns the rights to her stage name.[16]

Jane has hosted several adult industry award ceremonies throughout her career including the AVN Awards in 2006[17] and 2013,[18] the FAME Awards in 2008,[19] and the XBIZ Awards in 2008[20] and 2011.[21]

Personal life

In 2000, Jane gave birth to a boy.[13] She stated in 2007 that she was married to fellow porn star Rick Patrick.[22][23] They live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.[2] On March 1, 2012 announced on her official Twitter account that she and Patrick were officially divorced.[24] On October 15, 2012 she announced her engagement to her personal trainer Michael Giovanni,[25] again on Twitter.

Jane has described herself as bisexual.[26] In 2004, she stated on the Howard Stern Show that she had a hysterectomy due to now dormant cervical cancer.[27]
