Kormakitis (Greek spelling Κορμακίτης, Turkish: Koruçam) is a small village in Northern Cyprus. The Cape Kormakitis is named after the village. Before the war of 1974 the village had around 1000 inhabitants. Kormakitis is one of four Maronite villages in Cyprus. After the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus, there are only a small number of inhabitants still living in the village.[citation needed] The Maronites of Kormakitis speak Cypriot Maronite Arabic, a unique Arabic dialect.
