Practical Fishkeeping (also known as PFK) is the United Kingdom's best-selling aquarium magazine. It is published every four weeks by Bauer. The title covers the entire aquatic market from tropical freshwater and tropical marine fishkeeping throughout the year to small amounts of pond and coldwater fish coverage during the summer months.

Originally called Pet Fish Monthly, the title launched in April 1966. The title changed its name to Practical Fishkeeping during the early 1980s. The magazine is edited by Jeremy Gay. Regular contributing authors include Dr Heok Hee Ng. Former editors of the title include Steve Windsor, Karen Youngs, Matt Clarke and Nick Fletcher.

Practical Fishkeeping also has a very successful and popular web forum with over 20,000 members and still growing. The Forum expands even further on the printed magazine and the online articles that can be found on the main site.

PFK Website Hacked

The site was hacked in early December 2009, allegedly exposing 20,000-25,000 usernames, password, email, postal addresses and phone numbers to the perpetrator(s).[1]

  • The website was relaunched with an entirely new interface on 2 February 2010.
