Prefectures of the Central African Republic

The Central African Republic is divided into fourteen prefectures:
Prefecture Capital
Bamingui-Bangoran   Ndélé
Basse-Kotto Mobaye
Haute-Kotto Bria
Haut-Mbomou Obo
Kémo Sibut
Lobaye Mbaïki
Mambéré-Kadéï Berbérati  
Prefecture Capital
Mbomou Bangassou
Nana-Mambéré Bouar
Ombella-M'Poko   Bimbo
Ouaka Bambari
Ouham Bossangoa  
Ouham-Pendé Bozoum
Vakaga Birao

There are also two economic prefectures:

Nana-Grébizi (capital Kaga Bandoro)
Sangha-Mbaéré   (capital Nola)

The national capital, Bangui, comprises a commune which lies outside the prefectures.

The prefectures are further subdivided into seventy-one sub-prefectures.
