photo[edit]

There is a photo on Flicker of the memorial, can it be used in Wikipedia? https://www.flickr.com/photos/sheenachi/4622727003/in/photostream/ Bloger (talk) 15:25, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bloger, not that photo. It has a copyrighted license. Loksmythe (talk) 15:44, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Loksmythe,Ooh right. But sometimes on flicker the photos are “free to use for noncommercial” and I wonder if those are permitted, and if yes, how does one get it on wiki.Bloger (talk) 17:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Bloger, no the image has to be free to use for any purpose, including commercial. See Commons:Licensing. You could potentially reach out to the individual who took that photo and ask them to release it into the public domain with the CC-BY-SA or CC-BY license. Loksmythe, Thanks. Bloger (talk) 17:19, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Bloger, I may be able to take a photo of this memorial when I get back into Manhattan, if this does not work out. epicgenius (talk) 18:46, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
epicgenius, Would be perfect since the photo on flicker is not that good. If you do…. Get one from the aria around – the plaza – and also the city-park marker. Thanks in advance.Bloger (talk) 20:07, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
