More than one battle of Fairfax Court House; date[edit]

First field-officer wounded[edit]

Are there any records of an officer (of whatever rank) being a combat casualty earlier than this? If not, Ewell would qualify as the first officer wounded in combat - a bigger distinction than first field-officer, which would also be his.
