Picture[edit]

I know that he has had a lot of recent success as a comedic actor but I think a better picture can be found then the one posted. The picture for a biography I think should try to show just a general sense. The current picture I think should be put in the section that talks about his comidic roles and a more dramatic picture should be used for the main one, just so no one thinks we are trying to make fun of him.

On a side note; I see that he was born in New Orleans. He wouldn't happen to be creole would he? I would be very interested to find out and would love it if someone who knows would post yes or no on the question. Being born in New Orleans doesn't automatically mean Creole but it might. --Billiot 15:18, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he is of Creole descent. 2600:381:CB50:11F9:C55A:1D3E:6630:9039 (talk) 16:50, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot (talk) 18:20, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"The Truth"[edit]

I could not find any sources to suggest that this is his nickname (I made a mistake in the edit summary). There may be some confusion between Carl Weathers and Carl Williams. I have removed it for the time being. Rtdixon86 (talk) 22:19, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting information on Deadline citation regarding date of death[edit]

[1]https://deadline.com/2024/02/carl-weathers-dead-1235812684/

First two paragraphs of the article at the time of this writing (emphasis mine):

Carl Weathers, who starred as Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky films and appeared in Predator, The Mandalorian, Happy Gilmore, Action Jackson and dozens of other films and TV shows, died Tuesday, his family announced. He was 76. “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers,” his family said in a statement. “He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. … Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend.”

This is also reflected in this article, with the lifespan dates and summary bullet point in the sidebar agreeing with the family statement, and the statement about death date at the end agreeing with Deadline's words.

Has anyone been able to confirm which is correct? Deejay4am (talk) 19:44, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Deejay4am my guess is "Tuesday" was a typo, since it conflicts with an official statement by his family. But we would have to see if Deadline makes a correction. Natg 19 (talk) 19:54, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Seems that Tuesday is a typo. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:09, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You forgot his by far most important and most famous role of Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars franchise Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, and Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. this is what he is most remembered for even amongst non star wars fans. 149.50.162.59 (talk) 21:31, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lando was played by Billy Dee Williams, not Carl Weathers. Donatj (talk) 21:49, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Typo in protected updates.[edit]

A line was changed from “He is also starring in a series of commercials for Bud Light” to “He is also starred in […]”. The “is” should be removed to match the new tense. 74.76.37.144 (talk) 00:57, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:00, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
