MLSE → MLSE (disambiguation) – A Google News search overwhelmingly finds results on the sports holding company. The algorithm has only a few internal links, while the sports company has hundreds. The sports company gets 10x the hits of the algorithm. Per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, MLSE should be redirected to Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment as the primary topic, with hatnotes used to link to the algorithm and the disambiguation page moved to MLSE (disambiguation). Comment: Are you proposing:

1: that Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment should be moved to "MLSE", with a hatnote pointing to the algorithm, or

2: that MLSE should become a redirect pointing to Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, with a "redirect" hatnote pointing to the algorithm?

In other words: you say, perhaps convincingly, that the sports organisation is the primary topic for MLSE, but are you also saying (option 1) that "MLSE" is the correct title for the sports organisation's article?

In either case the dab page would no longer need to exist. I'm not sure how this should be suggested, procedurally, as the dab page needs to be moved into oblivion if it is agreed that there is a primary topic for "MLSE", as it would then be deletable under WP:TWODABS. I'm just proposing (2), to turn this page into a redirect. Personally, I have no strong opinion on whether the dab page should be retained or deleted, but according to WP:TWODABS:

"If a disambiguation page does not appear to be needed because there are only two topics for the ambiguous title and one of them is the primary topic, but there could reasonably be other topics ambiguous with the title on Wikipedia now or in the future, an {{about}} hatnote can be used to link to a disambiguation page (either in addition to or instead of a link directly to the other article)."

So it isn't necessary for the dab page to be deleted. I think the most straightforward approach is for this RM to just focus on what the primary topic of MLSE is, with the related issues addressed in a subsequent discussion. If someone believes that the common name of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is MLSE, then they can start an RM on that. Likewise, if someone believes that the dab page is redundant they can nominate it for deletion. TDL (talk) 15:47, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose in Google books and Google Scholar searches, MLSE as maximum likelihood sequence estimation or maximum likelihood sequence estimator is dominant, with the sports organization barely showing up in GBooks and nonexistent in Google Scholar.
