Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012Republic of Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012

  • It's the official form, requested as Uncontroversial name. --109.242.108.54 (talk) 23:00, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • All the other Wikipedia articles for participating countries use titles like 'XXX in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012', where XXX is the conventional name of the country, not 'Republic of XXX'. To see the names that we use for all the other countries, see Eurovision Song Contest 2012. This appears to be the current Wikipedia convention for naming the articles of the competing countries. • This has to do with the solemnity of Europian Union not with any of competitions but the official name which is Republic of Macedonia. We don't do whatever we want, there are some official standards and polices --109.242.108.54 (talk) 03:52, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Of course there are some official standards and policies, and at Wikipedia those standards are enforced by the Arbitration Committee. This proposed page move is against WP:NCMAC. Kosm1fent 04:34, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strongly oppose As per decisions set out at WP:NCMAC a move isn't warranted. The IP user is in serious breach of 1RR restrictions as set out by ArbCom over the naming of Macedonia on articles such as this. WesleyMouse 10:18, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strongly oppose Per WP:NCMAC: "Macedonia", by itself, will be used to refer to the country in all other articles in contexts where this is practically unambiguous." Greek Macedonia does not participate as itself but as part as Greece, only Rep. of Macedonia is the standalone use of 'Macedonia'. -- [[ axg ◉ talk ]] 22:15, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
