  • No vote. Natsume is a video game company. [1] It hasn't published any huge hits, but its Harvest Moon games are cult classics. This has the potential to be a keepable article, if someone wants to clean it up; if not, delete it, because sometimes an article like this is worse than no article at all, in my opinion.   • Keep. It's a real video game company, and it's published a few noteworthy games. If I recall correctly, Harvest Moon got some press back when it first came out. Also, I rewrote the entry to be NPOV and a bit more informative. Harvest Moon itself probably deserves at least a small entry, too.

  • Keep. Natsume is definitely a notable video game company. Take for example the classic Pocky & Rocky for the SNES. You should really Google or check for example Gamefaqs [2] before trying to delete articles. The article should of course be expanded, though. Zelda 20:33, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)

Needs distinction between Natsume Inc. and Natsume Co., Ltd[edit]

this article refers to Natsume Inc. (USA) as a subsidiary of Natsume Co., Ltd (Japan, now Natsume Atari) and treats them pretty much as the same entity, but they currently aren't, and apparently haven't been for quite some time:

"Natsume Inc. acts independently of Natsume Co. Ltd. There is a relationship between both companies but Natsume Inc. is not a subsidiary of Natsume Co. Ltd. Natsume Inc. is free to develop and license titles from any partners we see fit. Thus, all decision making starts and ends with the office in the U.S."

I recall reading somewhere that Natsume Inc was founded as a subsidiary of Natsume Co., Ltd but they became independent sometime in the mid-90s, but I can't find the source of this - but at a guess it's probably the 1994 date Maekawa took over the company or the 1995 date it was "re-organised" as per Maekawa's interview. 82.11.93.218 (talk) 22:30, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Split the US company into its own article?[edit]

This article is basically trying to cover two completely separate game companies, and the fact that their names are so similar and that they've changed their names as well just adds to the confusion, splitting it into 2 articles would be better in my opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.37.33.132 (talk) 08:14, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the article should be split. These companies were once directly related, but it's been nearly 25 years since that stopped being true.
