The real purpose of this talk page is to share and add important information to the article, NOT for political propaganda. Messhermit 04:59, 26 November 2005 (UTC) NOte 19 Feb 2007: I have made some wholly inadequate updates today, as I retained some things which really should be reviewed, but I think the article was improved somewhat by consolidating his academic and career path and not having it broken up by the slightly toned-down "CONTROVERSY" Section. The piece deserves more attention, hopefully in a collaborative effort.[reply]

Use of the page for political reasons[edit]

Use of the page to omit the dual nationality without reason[edit]

Please do not change the information of this bio. The user Edhu9 is constantly editing this page by wrong reasoning. Edhu9 thinks that the nationality of Mister Kuczynski is a political data. Moreover also think that a political data, if any, it’s used for damage or promote the image of the person, with the vandalism of opponents or allies.

Biographical data (eg nationality) are essential information of the person, and have dual nationality is a correct data, objective, proven and accepted by Mr.Kuczynski. This is not trivial, dubious or debatable. No sense in an encyclopedia will ignore this data.

And be careful, the nationality of Mr. Kuczynski not only not being used to damage his image (among other things because it’s impossible, although Edhu9 mistakenly thinks the dual citizenship damages the encyclopedia, the personage, or whatever), not even allowed to mention that information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.236.124.15 (talk) 00:05, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hahaha you are using the nationality of PPK to attack him. Do you know what happened in Spanish wikipedia with the article of Mr Kuczynski?, so if the nationality of PPK is very import WHY DON'T YOU EDIT THIS ARTICLE BEFORE THE ELECTION O AFTER?. Information in the encyclopedia Wikipedia and an Electoral Process in Peru[edit]

1. Unfortunately Edhu9 thinks that the U.S. citizenship is an insult and attack the person.

2. The nationality of Mr. Kuczynski is a biographycal data, an encyclopedia can not depend on the electoral process in Peru to see if omit the nationality or not in his biographycal information, moreover, no real relationship between the two things (beyond whim).

This information of Mr. Kuczynski was not available before because it was hidden for him and little or no scrutiny by the press. Now there are sources that support this:

- Mr. Kuczynsky recognized him.

The intent to renounce is mentioned, but not the U.S. nationality. And the introduction mentioned only one of the two nationalities[edit]

The user Dawei20 is erasing the nationality of Mr. Kuczynski and said:
1. “Emphasizing dual nationality in the introduction is clearly a political statement” (21:11 - 10 April 2011):
His nationality is not a political data, but biographical (was clarified in previous paragraphs).

2. “Really? It's common? Find me one single other article in the English wikipedia that lists dual citizenship listed in the intro” (01:24 - 11 April 2011):
If you don't want to analyze it and think that the number of times (atypical or common) makes an argument true or false (fallacy: "if there aren't biographies that mention dual nationality, is because must be a political figure"), can check following examples (by repetion):

Why in this article shows the U.S. nationality of PPK and not in Wikipedia in spanish?[edit]

If both are translations, why are they different? Two things caught my attention:

I read a couple of times this article a week ago, and one time showed dual citizenship, after not, and now is show again. The translation of Wikipedia is failing?

The other thing is the next title: "Intent to renounce his U.S. citizenship"? is not only "Renunciation of U.S. nationality"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.236.127.183 (talk) 02:48, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On the subject[edit]

Since 16 March 2011, the article mentions the dual nationality of Mr. Kuczynski in Wikipedia in english (go to 'Article' and see 'View history'). From that day until 12 April 2011 this information was constantly removed: 26 times by user Edhu9 (almost all unexplained) and twice by user Dawei20.

I wrote the part “Intent to renounce his U.S. citizenship” (6 April 2011), seeing that article began to mention a one single indication, related to the U.S. citizenship:
- “On March 29, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski presented his renounce to his U.S. citizenship” (user Edhu9, 13:20 - 31 March 2011).
- And a variant: “On March 29, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski renounced his U.S. citizenship” (user AllGloryToTheHypnotoad, 19:05 - 1 April 2011).
The article began to mention, and falsely, the renunciation, but contradictorily continued without mentioning that Mr. Kuczynski previously had U.S. citizenship, and if this was mentioned, it was deleted again.
All information on “Intent to renounce his U.S. citizenship” has correct references. It is not "Renunciation of U.S. Nationality " because PPK has not begun that process.

About Wikipedia in Spanish and translation:
From what I've seen on Wikipedia, articles of the same subject in different languages are independent, sometimes the articles are translated, but usually not.

Since 16 March 2011 the edit of the article of PPK in spanish is blocked. So there are important information (in some cases opposite to that mentioned in this article) that can not be added until today (13 April 2011).

Perhaps, now that the vote in Peruvian general election (10 April 2011) is over or when ONPE finish counting of votes, the article of PPK in spanish will be unlocked and can change and correct the biographical data of PPK (I guess that because since the ONPE said PPK does not pass mathematically the second round, there are no more users who are constantly eliminating the dual nationality of PPK in Wikipedia in english).

Citation needed[edit]

The list of ancestors, in section “Ancestry”, should be false.

Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (born October 3, 1938) is said to be son of Maxime Hans Kuczynski (1890-1967) and Madeleine Godard (who is said to be daughter of Paul Jean Édouard Godard and Odile Marie Monod, who are the parents of Jean-Luc Godard, born 1930, swiss director).

Paul Godard (1899-1954) married 1928 Odile Monod (1909-1954) and their eldest child is Rachel Godard, born January 6th, 1930.

If Madeleine Godard were daughter of Paul Godard and Odile Monod, she should were born later as December 1930, probably married before October 1938, and mother at the age of seven years. Jean-Luc Godard should also be uncle of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.

This is impossible. Madeleine Godard can't be daughter of Paul Godard and Odile Monod.

There is a news article, in French newspaper Le Monde, about the presidential run in Peru: Paulo A. Paranagua, “Keiko contre Vero, duel de la présidentielle au Pérou”, Lemonde.de, April 8th, 2016. Only a part of article is free, but this sentence can be read by everyone: “La caravane de l’un d’entre eux, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, dit PPK, 77 ans, technocrate et cousin du cinéaste Jean-Luc Godard, passe dans l’indifférence générale.” This should mean that Madeleine Godard is possibly the sister of Paul Godard, and not his daughter, and that all the possible ancestors in the branch 7 (7, 14, 15, 28, 29, 30, 31) are false...

Poor expression in English[edit]

Quoting: "the judge Richard Concepcion ordered 18 months of prison without bail for the ex-president."
Note that "prison without bail" does not make sense in either American or British English.
In either country, and in the whole British legal system such as in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, "bail" is a means for a defendant (presumed innocent until proven guilty) can avoid being jailed or "house arrest" while awaiting trial and during the trial, and sometimes during appeals.
Prison is a place for convicts who have already been convicted beyond a reasonable doubt, and then sentenced by the courts for punishment - and the protection of the public.
Of these countries that have written constitutions (the U.K. not having one), all of them say that "excessive bail" shall not be imposed, not excessive fines, nor "cruel and unusual punishment". "Escape from Nazism"?[edit]

"His parents fled Germany in 1933 to escape from Nazism"
Does anyone else find this sentence awkward? Sure, it dodges tautology, but is it correct to say "escape from Nazism"? Nazism is not a region. At the same time, "escape from Nazi party" sounds like from an adventure movie. "Escape Nazism" is probably impossible because Nazism is not a fate that would have awaited the subject.
Maybe, change it to something like "His parents fled Nazi Germany in 1933"?--Adûnâi (talk) 20:35, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
