Death Controversy[edit]

Someone with the time and resources should include some information in the "death" section about the "producer" controversy----ie. how the producer interupted Redd Foxx's interview making him furiously mad just minutes before the heart attack struck. Many believe the producer's actions caused Redd to have the heart attack. I was able to find this clip on youtube from the A&E biography on his life. I think this info needs to be included in the article somehow:

Not only that, but the article first states that he suffered a fatal stroke, then later refers to a heart attack when referencing the old act from "Sanford and Son." It would be nice to clarify the actual cause of death somehow.Kp.murphy (talk) 20:17, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed The word "stroke" was actually linked to Myocardial infarction, so I assume the content was correct at some point and someone changed it for kicks. This mistake actually could've been fixed by anyone who caught it. Pinkadelica ^♣ 20:36, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IRS[edit]

I'm not sure why the IRS section I added was deleted, as this as a major portion of the last few years of his life, making news headlines across the country? I included all the references in the article, and literally every other source about his life that I can find include this? I re added this because it absolutely was a part of Foxx's life in the end. "1975 Panther"?[edit]

The financial and tax problems section states that the IRS seized a number of vehicles from Foxx, including a "1975 Panther". This was taken from The Orlando Sentinel May 2, 1990. It's unclear exactly what vehicle that was. "Panther" was a code name for the Chevrolet Camaro but that was never actually used and it seems very unlikely that a 1990 news article would call a Camaro a "Panther." Another possibility is the Panther (motorcycle) but that was discontinued in 1966, so there isn't a "1975 Panther." Maybe 1975 was incorrect. Because it's not clear what vehicle was actually seized, I have removed any wikilink and left it a "1975 Panther," pending clarification. Ecphora (talk) 13:55, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Portrayals of Foxx in popular media[edit]

Why does every Wikipedia article have to tell us when something is mentioned on cartoon drivel such as 'Family Guy' or 'The Simpsons'? Only someone as nerdy as The Simpson's Comic Book Guy would actually care.

Multiple Issues??[edit]

To say this article has multiple issues is an awfully mild criticism. Doesn't the writer know that Redd Foxx was introduced to white audiences through his record albums? People should know of the naughty fun we white kids had surreptitiously listening to his "raunchy" albums. This was in the 50s and some of those albums were 78s. Headshot picture year[edit]

I think the year (1966) is off by a good bit. That headshot was used on the cover of his LP "He's Funny That Way" which was released in 1961. And it's very possible the picture was taken a year or two before that.

John vs. Jon[edit]

It actually IS consistent with MANY other articles as well as the Wikipedia Manual itself.[edit]

Pearc, I just read what you wrote to that other IP, 2600...., but actually, it IS consistent with other articles--not all of them yet, but most of them use the format found in the WP:Manual of Style that was already shown to you in the previous edit summary, as all of them should. Did you not bother to look at that? And did you not bother to notice the many other articles that already are formatted that way? Dubious statement[edit]
