ships

[edit]

This should be expanded. Each ship should probably get an article, in line with tonnes of ships getting articles on WikiPedia. 70.55.203.112 (talk) 13:22, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yuan Wang 6 was berthed in Suva, Fiji Islands, for the second week of October 2011. Purpose of visit is unknown.Dalenank (talk) 03:17, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name?

[edit]

Should the name be "Yuan Wang" (as now), or "Yuanwang"? The former is used in the article title, but the latter is used in the article text.

PLA Affiliation

[edit]

The Yuanwang fleet was operated by a unit directly attached to the General Armaments Department until its reorganization in 2015. It is not and had never been operated by the PLAN. Hence the edit. Mys_721tx (talk) 11:58, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is there an authoritative source for this claim? Everything I can find says the ships are under the authority of the China Satellite Maritime Monitoring and Control Department under the Commission for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, which has now been folded under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Indeed, there's nothing in the citation that supports the headline claim. 2600:4040:2786:FA00:39C2:164D:4FC9:20E3 (talk) 01:13, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
