About me

, I'm Chamal (that's both my real name and username). I'm from Sri Lanka, one of the very few editors from there who are active on Wikipedia now. I joined Wikipedia in April 2008, and became an administrator in August 2009. I had to take a long break from wikipedia due to studies in early 2010, and resumed editing in April 2011.

If you need any assistance with anything here in Wikipedia I'm always ready to help, so please ask. I always try to avoid drama and maintain neutrality in my editing and discussions, but if you spot a problem with my editing or admin actions, please don't hesitate to point it out to me.

Active areas

You might see me quite frequently at the Did You Know project, the help desk and the new contributors' help page. Occasionally I spend some time reverting vandalism, copy editing, or at WP:AFC, but now that I just got back from a long break I'm trying to focus more on article writing. Most of the articles I work on are related to the Military history and cricket wikiprojects. I used to work on articles related to Wikiproject Sri Lanka, but I rarely edit them now since I don't have much spare time for the research needed for them.

I'm not doing a lot of admin work currently since a lot has changed since I was last here, and I need to familiarize myself again with how things work. With time, I'll probably work mostly at requests for page protection, administrator intervention against vandalism, and requested moves. I rarely do deletions except for blatant attack or vandalism pages.
