December 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Musical Live!, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. January 2021[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, The Fantasticks (film), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 15:44, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

9/11 timeline[edit]

Please use the talkjpage to propose changes and your reasoning for them, and please don't alter quotes. A bunch of fussy edits to wording seem unproductive. Acroterion (talk) 19:47, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

January 2021[edit]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 02:32, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. I looked at Jackie Burns, and those are fine--but your edits on Martin Moran are not: unverified. And in general, you need to explain what you are doing--please leave edit summaries. Drmies (talk) 02:34, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, 35.141.74.186. You haven't responded to or acknowledged that you understand the messages left here, nor have you started using edit summaries. Finally, you continue to make unsourced or unhelpful changes to articles. If an account has to be reverted ten percent of the time, let alone thirty or forty percent, there's a real problem. If it persists I'll request sanctions for this account. Thank you, 2601:188:180:B8E0:E889:8717:B774:3D3C (talk) 18:43, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! My name's Tamzin. I'm afraid I had to revert your recent contributions to Carol Lin. While we note in someone's infobox and the lede sentence of their article if they are of multiple nationalities, we do not normally note someone's ethnicity, outside of rare cases where the person's ethnicity is a major part of why they're notable. Referring to her as "Asian-American" where most articles would say "American" could have the undesirable effect of making some readers think that we don't consider her fully American. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out on my talk page, or by replying here with the template {{ping|Tamzin}}. October 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Gareth Gates, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. CycloneYoris talk! 10:32, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

November 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to The Nigger of the "Narcissus". Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. --TheImaCow (talk) 20:30, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits on the page Tour de France, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Benjamin112 21:02, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Murder of Sylvia Likens, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 01:31, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mad Jim Bey. I noticed that you recently removed content from Kristy Cates without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks!
