January 2022[edit]

Hello, please don't remove Adriana Lima's "Pardo" section of her wikipedia, I know she doesn't identify as a Pardo brazilian but a Pardo Brazilian is a Brazilian of mixed race heritage, so that's why it's made clear that she is technically a Pardo brazilian. An afro brazilian is someone of predominantly African heritage and Brazilian nationality, Lima is not predominantly black. Her saying she was afro-brazilian was most likely an error since she was speaking her second language, and either way isn't an accurate label of her ethnicity or race, she is not black, she's technically mixed and Pardo Brazilian. Please don't edit this again as it's important to classify what she falls under officially in the Brazilian census. Weplist 02:55, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your edit about quotation marks and periods on Azealia Banks. Just FYI, Wikipedia uses "logical quotations" meaning that if the sources has the punctuation, we put it in the quotes. But if it does not, we keep it outside. EvergreenFir (talk) 00:28, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking feedback on proposed section for Wilmer Valderrama article[edit]

Hello, I see you do a lot of work on articles about actors and I wanted to see if you would be willing to provide some feedback on a section I've proposed about Wilmer Valderrama's activism work. I am a paid contributor, so I've made the suggestion on the Talk page, but since this is an area you spend a lot of time in, I wanted some feedback while I'm waiting on a response to my edit request. Any feedback you could provide would be helpful. Thanks! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wilmer_Valderrama#Proposing_an_Activism_section SBCornelius (talk) 22:11, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Most reliable sources describe Sawayama as Japanese-British, so per MOS:ROLEBIO, the article's lead sentence should reflect that, no? KyleJoantalk 09:05, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sacheen Littlefeather[edit]

Hi, I saw you were making edits to the Sacheen Littlefeather article. There's quite a bit of discussion right now on the talk page and on a noticeboard about the article with the news about the ancestry allegations. I wanted you to give you a heads up before you make too many edits because there could be some push back. Happy editing! Nemov (talk) 02:21, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jawed Karim's name in Bengali[edit]

With regard to your removal of Bengali script from Jawed Karim in this edit, there has been back and forth addition and removal of his Bengali name going back many, many years. If you would weigh in at the relatively recent Talk:Jawed Karim#Please stop removing Bengali from name, it could help establish and document a consensus that could be enforced. Without consensus, it's only a matter of time before someone adds back the Bengali version of his name. --Worldbruce (talk) 10:26, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity cats for athletes[edit]

Hey mate, can you slow down on the ethnicity removals for athletes? Very often there is a Grandfather rule that extends the grandparents nationality to athletes, and in those cases I think keeping the ethnicity categories are relevant.--Ortizesp (talk) 03:47, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not empty all of the contents of a category so that it gets tagged for speedy deletion, CSD C1. This is called "emptying out of process" and is considered disruptive editing. If you believe a category should be deleted, renamed or merged, please nominte it (or them) at Categories for Discussion so that the proposal can be considered. As you undoubtedly know, categories exist in a hierarchy and what affects one category can impact others. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:45, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Asian Australians[edit]

Hi,

Just wanted to ask you for some help on the Asian Australians article. We recently had a GA review but did not pass. I haven't had much time to go through and fix all the issues with the article and was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a quick check of it. Vanessa Bryant possible WP:BLP issue[edit]

Hello Clear Looking Glass. Please see my closure of the complaint that was filed at WP:AN3 about Vanessa Bryant. In my view the claim of Filipino descent for Vanessa's mother may not have support from reliable sources. Can you look at this again and see what you think? The IP's edit summaries are legalistic but I am wondering if the IP may be correct about the underlying issue. Any needed discussion can occur at Talk:Vanessa Bryant. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 01:58, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits on South Asian Americans[edit]

Dear Clear Looking Glass:

Hello. How are you? With regard to your assertion that most Indian Americans do not identify as Asian, this article would beg to differ. It asserts that actually most Indians and Pakistanis consider themselves Asian. Other Asian ethnicities and whites are less likely to do so:

https://www.russellsage.org/sites/default/files/Who%20counts%20as%20Asian.pdf

Also, the findings of the Pew Research Centre noted that 91% of Indian adults considered South Asians to fit into the broader Asian ethnic category:
