Your recent edits[edit]

Information.svg Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button Insert-signature.png or Button sig.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:31, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Tha Carter IV[edit]

That makes sense. I restored your change. Next time when removing content from an article, please type the reason in the edit summary to justify it, reassuring other editors it's constructive rather than potential vandalism. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 19:06, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

August 2012[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Life Is Good (Nas album). Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 14:05, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

I dont see anything at the bio article, but that shouldnt be your point of reference anyway. If there is a reliable source available on the Internet verifying nas.com, then it can be added in the chronology at Life Is Good (Nas album). Dan56 (talk) 19:28, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
You can cite the source with a citation template, like Template:Cite web for internet sources, Template:Cite news for newspapers, or Template:Cite journal for magazines. When you're typing or making edits in general, there is a line of buttons/tools above (starting with B, I, etc.) and the last one CITE can be used as well. Here's a test edit to Life Is Good as an example: [1]. Dan56 (talk) 19:52, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Try to avoid self-published sources like Twitter, blogs, or Internet forums, as any user can create content there. Dan56 (talk) 19:54, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
For this topic in particular, Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Sources has a list of sources that can be used and of those that should be avoided. If an artist's album was announced, it would most likely be made known at his or her website. The sole exception to self-published sources like Twitter is when the content that needs a source is something about that person, like when they announce album release dates on their Twitter. Edit summaries, multiple consecutive edits[edit]

Hello and welcome, Eleventhblock. A couple general editing notes if you don't mind: When you make a change to an article, please make a habit of providing an edit summary. Doing so helps your colleagues here understand the intention of your edit. Also it will also be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This will keep the edit history of the page less cluttered. Regards, Eric talk 16:47, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at Persona : Trinity Soul, you may be blocked from editing. Ald™ ¬_¬™ 14:22, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Release date[edit]

Do not restore your edit to Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The guideline at Template:Infobox album#Released says to only include the earliest release, so dont. Thank u. Dan56 (talk) 20:55, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

It's already noted in the lead and the article's release history section. Dan56 (talk) 21:01, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Singles template[edit]

Per Template:Infobox album#Template:Singles, do not add songs from re-releases... do not add songs from re-releases, as you did at Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 22:31, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Disregarding clearly laid-out guidelines, as they are here right where you edited the article, is considered disruptive. Further disruptive editing can result in a block and a loss of editing priveledges. Please consider this when making edits in the future. Dan56 (talk) 22:33, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
I believe you that it is a single from the re-release, which is my point. If it was from the original release, then its addition to the singles template would be acceptable, but the infobox is a representation of the most general aspects of the article's topic, and a re-release doesnt qualify. RE: Everyday Birthday[edit]

Requests should be made at Wikipedia:Requested articles, but I'm not seeing anything about this song from third-party sources. Lacking articles in a quick Google search (Web, GoogleNews, etc.) usually indicates that it fails the notability guideline. Please refer to Wikipedia:Notability (in thise case Notability (music)#Recordings or #Songs) for what should have its own article. Dan56 (talk) 00:37, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Templete: User MMTF[edit]

Hey, Eleventhblock, can I ask what your plan for this is? Right now, it's in the main article namespace, rather than template space (it's template, not templete, and the spelling is breaking things), and Template:User MMTF already exists. I can move it into your userspace rather than deleting it if you like, but one way or another, it's gotta go. Writ Keeper  20:53, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

I like my userbox better because it uses the Mega Man logo. I don't understand why that one is worse than the other userbox without the logo. I am not breaking copyright because I added that logo to Wikimedia Commons YEARS ago and gave all rights to Capcom. Please do not delete anything until we have reached an agreement.  11Block |talk
Okay, I'll move it to your userspace. It can't stay where it is. Writ Keeper  21:00, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
All right, done; it's now at User:Eleventhblock/User MMTF. It can still be used from there without problems; just do {{User:Eleventhblock/User MMTF}}. Incidentally, you might want to consider changing the colors in the font and the background; the blue-on-blue makes the text in the userbox really hard to read. Writ Keeper  21:03, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I made it dark blue to make it look like Mega Man's buster but it came out kind of hard to read. I agree. Do you want me to change the background color or text color?  11Block |talk
Oh, do whatever you want; it was just a suggestion. I'd suggest that changing the text color to white and keeping the blue background would be your best bet, but it's totally up to you! Writ Keeper  21:09, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thank you so much for your suggestion! :) 11Block |talk

Template:User 11block[edit]

Hi Eleventhblock,

I've moved this to User:Eleventhblock/User 11block; you put it in the main template space, and that isn't for personal things.

While I'm here, I notice you tried to use the template as your signature. You can't really do that; per [aw rats, can't find the link, i'll be back when i do]], you can't transclude templates in a signaure, as it would eat bandwidth like crazy. You can do this one of two ways: (1) copy the text in the signature page to your signature under "my preferences", or (b) use {{subst:User:Eleventhblock/User 11block}} in your signature. Substituting a template (as long as the resulting text is shorter than the maximum signature length) in a signature is fine. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:33, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't really understand option a. (Eleventhblock (talk) 21:37, 22 April 2013 (UTC))
The page I was looking for is WP:SIG#NT. Anyway, when you tried to sign with Template:User 11block, did you type that into the message, or did you modify your signature in your preferences? --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:41, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

It looks like you may have just typed it in. If you really want to use the template, go to the "preferences" link in the top right of the screen. In the "user profile" tab, under "signatures":

  1. type {{subst:User:Eleventhblock/User 11block}} in the signature box
  2. tick the "treat the above as wiki markup" box
  3. save

now, when you type ~~~~, it will look like this:  11Block |talk21:55, 22 April 2013 (UTC).

But what I meant by my first option (which according to WP:SIG#NT is prefered) is to just type this text into that signature box in "preferences": '''[[User:Eleventhblock|<span style="border:1px solid Black;padding:1px;"><font style="color:White;background:Black" size="0"> 11Block </font></span>]]|[[User talk:Eleventhblock|<font color="Black" size = "0">talk</font>]]'''. That way, no one can screw around with your signature. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:55, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Non-free image in your Mega Man userbox[edit]

Hey, Eleventhblock, I see that you re-added the Mega Man image into your userbox. Unfortunately, that image is a non-free image. What this means is that the image hasn't been released for us to use freely in a copyright sense. We're allowed to use it in actual encyclopedia articles (with some pretty severe restrictions even then), but we're not allowed to use it outside articles. So, I'm sorry, but you can't use that image in your userbox. Please just leave it out. Thanks! Writ Keeper  01:13, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Edits to Yeezus[edit]

Please stop removing the phrase "rave reviews" from Yeezus, as you did here and here. It is verified by the source cited, which is one of several to use it in describing the material in question ([2]). Dan56 (talk) 20:41, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Once again, I have stated that "rave reviews" sounds like an advertisement which is not the focus of Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia policy allows only "positive reviews", "mixed reviews" or "negative reviews".  11Block |talk 23:19, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
It sounds like a word that's commonly used in this context ([3]) And what policy are you referring to? Dan56 (talk) 23:30, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

I don't think enough info exist on the song to expand it, and let's wait and see if other editors think it should be redirected or deleted. Koala15 (talk) 00:39, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

Young Money Entertainment[edit]

I noticed you recently added chart positions for PJ Morton's album to Young Money Entertainment, but did not provide a reliable source. If you have one please go ahead and readd it there and to the respective album and record label page. I only noticed it because having that the album peaked at 2 on the Billboard R&B/HipHop Albums chart was just laughably wrong, but that might have been a typo. Removing AfD template[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Unorthodox[edit]

Hi Eleventhblock - thank you for the WikiLove! And also for incorporating those sources into the main body of the article. I would recommend, per WP:QUOTEFARM, using only one or two summarizing/interesting sentences from each source so that the article is not overwhelmed by quotes. Thanks again for your help in expanding the article. Cheers,  Gong show 02:09, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Also feel free to comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unorthodox (Joey Badass song), so there is more consensus to keep the article rather than removing the AfD notice, as that is generally frowned upon and can be a blockable offense. Either way I know you meant well so cheers! STATic message me! 03:52, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Individual Daft Punk RAM song articles[edit]

Hi, could you do me a favor? In the future, when creating new articles about songs from Daft Punk's album Random Access Memories, could you please avoid blatantly copypasting swaths of unrelated info from the main RAM article? Doing some actual research and contributing new text exclusively to the song articles helps immensely too, but is not necessary. At the very least, please put the correct personnel for each song, as shown in the liner notes (or if you don't buy albums, here's a cheat sheet. Thanks. jhsounds (talk) 11:56, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Yeezus songs[edit]

In the future please do not copy such huge amounts of content from websites like you did at "I'm In It", doing such is a huge copyright violation and can get you in a lot of trouble if a more strict editor comes by it. If you see my creation at "Bound 2", its critical reception is much better, keeping it short and sweet is much better. You might also wanna see WP:ALBUM/REVSITE for proper sites to use for the section. Hey Eleventhblock. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:44, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Music Choice[edit]

The article is not a "Good Article", so please stop putting the {{Good article}} on it. According to the talk page, it's only B-class. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 04:06, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Music Choice[edit]

Hey Eleventhblock how goes it? Have not been the active recently huh? Leaving creating all the new hip hop articles to me lol. Anyways I wanted to message you to ask you to stop adding the GA icon on the Music Choice page, because it has yet to go through GA review. If you would like to request a GA review, you may see the steps at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions. Just make sure, after requesting a review to keep checking Wikipedia to see if someone has started reviewing it. If all goes well, you will had nominated and had your first GA promoted, recently I had my first Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. If the article is in good shape it will not be that hard. STATic message me! 23:51, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, sorry. I worked so hard to try to get Music Choice up to GA article-worthy as I am a such a huge fan of the service though I didn't write it like an advertisement as that is against Wikipedia rules. I thought people just place the good article template on an article and that's it. Also, thank you for taking your time to write this message, many people don't. Also, about writing more hip hop articles, I'm kind of falling out of hip hop and falling more into the pop articles. But time to time, I will try to work more towards WikiProject Hip Hop. See ya later man.  11Block |talk 20:09, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
No, it must always go through a review before it may be considered such. I am not sure why that tag was added, it does not look like much of an advertisement to me. Ehh I try to stay away from pop articles, much too many POV-pushers, I would much rather be one of the leading forces in the Hip Hop Wikiproject, a topic I love. Do not forget if you ever need advice, help or want to know how something is done around here, do not be afraid to drop me a message bro. STATic message me! 21:32, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Marihuana Tax Act, not Marijuana Tax Act[edit]

Der Eleventhblock: The actual spelling of the name of this law is "Marihuana," not "Marijuana." The latter spelling is a more common spelling of the term today, but we can't change the actual spelling in the law itself. So, why change the name of the article about the law? Famspear (talk) 02:07, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I thought that the article title was a typo or something. Didn't realize that "marihuana" was simply how the word was spelled in 1937.  11Block |talk 17:57, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Ways to improve Backseat Freestyle[edit]

Hi, I'm Meeeeeeee39. Eleventhblock, thanks for creating Backseat Freestyle!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. For an article about a single, I feel the lead is too long. Also, for an article which is, relatively, short, the lead is too long.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Meeeeeeee39 (talk) 14:59, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

Thank you so much for reporting feedback on the article I created. I will do my best to improve this article. Once again, thanks for the feedback, it is widely appreciated. :)  11Block |talk 19:18, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
