Welcome to my page. My name is Emma and I am a luthier who's particular area of interest is in world and historical instruments. Therefore this is what most of my edits on Wikipedia are concerned with. However, I am also interested in languages, culture, philosophy and music in general.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Basilio Repilado requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. E. Fokker (talk) 21:05, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please tweak format on your musical instrument articles[edit]

Greetings, great to see you've added some musical instrument articles! They could use a few tweaks though, so please get into the custom of applying the following with each new article:

  • Each instrument should be filed by physical type (Category:String instruments) and nationality (Category:Indonesian musical instruments); you've been skipping the latter
  • On the "Talk" page of each, you should add a WikiProject for {{WPMUSINST}} and {{WPINDONESIA}} (or whatever applicable country) so that those articles are registered with the crews that work those projects.
  • Please be careful with capitalisation: instrument names should not be capitalised unless they're at the start of a sentence, as they are not [[proper nouns].

Feel free to drop me a line with any questions; looking forward to seeing more articles from you! MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:32, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Again, please add WikiProjects to the Talk pages, like so: {{WPMUSINST|class=stub|importance=low}}. MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:06, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
For your efforts on creating articles on world instruments. Yes, they need a lot of work and formatting but I appreciate you trying to improve coverage of it. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:00, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you are a luthier, how interesting. I'm a very keen guitarist myself, Paco de Lucia and Joe Pass are my favourites and who I inspire to play like!! If I had the money I'd buy a Petros Guitar. Google image them. I look the old Spanish colonial look of them, like something unearthed in a sunken galleon or something! The video here may interest you. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:01, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vietnamese lutes[edit]

Thanks for adding photos. I linked your đàn tính article to vi.wp tính tẩu article as they are the same thing in Garland Encyclopedia. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:20, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you object if Dan Tinh is moved to đàn tính?
And brought back Basilio Repilado. Hope it is what you had in mind. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:55, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've put in a move request at Talk:Dan Tinh. Cheers! In ictu oculi (talk) 09:39, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, K'ni isn't Vietnamese, it's a hill people instrument. The dan bau, it got moved in March. It varies. WP doesn't use marks for most Vietnamese things, but ethnomusicology is a more academic area. and đ "d" and d "z" are pronounced differently. I'm biased, I have a few CDs of this stuff. As far as accents if you click WP:RM it will show you several more general discussions, about people normally, not music. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:37, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey. FWIW, an update you were told "Everything Vietnamese is at an ASCII title except for this small folk music category" It seems that's not the case, the majority are actually at Vietnamese names. Although big towns have recently been moved, Category:Populated places in Bac Kan Province etc. are still at Vietnamese. While articles in category:Vietnamese music, category:Vietnamese cuisine, category:Vietnamese culture are generally still using the full Vietnamese terms. Not that it makes an enormous amount of difference, but losing the stroke on the "đ" might make some Users think it was pronounced "zan tinh." I still propose that move, I know it's to your article, so it'd be nice if you're okay with it :) Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:50, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Emma dusepo. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Cuk (instrument), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Alpedio (talk) 21:15, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Trembulo RFC[edit]

I went to respond to your RFC on Trembulo but there is no discussion there to comment on. Was the RFC put up by accident? czar · · 01:15, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion[edit]

Emma, the Trembulo article has been proposed for deletion as a hoax. Do you know of any good sources that can confirm the existence of this instrument? Martin Hogbin (talk) 22:52, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Quintola has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't verify that this exists. No hits on Google Books. Google autocorrects to "Quinto". Sources are unreliable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
