Lockdown VA source[edit]

Hey Mark. Thanks for the source. It will work for now, but what we really need is something that distinctly says Hamill is The Joker, Conroy is Batman, etc. much like it is for the other games. And I just can't find any reliable sources that state it. I've Google searched so many phrases to try to find something, and anything that may be out there, is on Wikia sites (can't use), questionable sites, or personal blogs/reviews. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:29, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Mr. Favre. I have added a source confirming Conroy and Hamill in Lockdown. I hope it works out. I googled and found this source using the keywords "Arkham lockdown voice". Mainstreammark (talk) 00:22, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did see, and it may be the best option out there at the moment. Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:14, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear that. I wasn't whether to use the current source as it is or use http://fronttowardsgamer.com/2011/12/12/ftg-review-batman-arkham-city-lockdown/ as a source specifically for Hamill voicing Joker. However you would like to proceed is fine by me. Thanks -- Mainstreammark (talk) 12:04, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FYI[edit]

Just want you to know, that when I was at New York Comic Con today, at the Arkham Origins demo, I asked the dev person and he did confirm that Robin is Dick Grayson. He even said it got confusing, seeing how most of the skins are Tim Drake's. We still can't add this or change the link because if we add Holmes' tweet on the grounds of this info, that would not follow Wikipedia's sourcing policies (don't know exactly, but it's there, and it was a long day so I don't want to look for it). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:00, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Favre. I'll look into it. Did you happen to meet Roger, Troy, or Eric while you were there? - Mainstreammark (talk) 00:09, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt it will be something that will come out of the Con, unless someone asks at their panel tomorrow, but something will be announced then. So I think we are at the status quo. I just wanted you to know. And no, they were not there. I only went today, and their panel is tomorrow. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:22, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Really hoping it's an assassin, it feels like it's been forever since the Firefly reveal. There is no deadline for the Robin situation, we can wait til the devs officially announce it. - Mainstreammark (talk) 00:35, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. And I don't know about the reveal. I thought they wanted to keep some a secret, but with the whole achievements leak, the might be doing it. Who knows? We'll see tomorrow! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:12, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Still wondering whether or not they realize themselves that Riddler, Lady Shiva, and Killer Croc have been inadvertently "exposed" to the media and consumers. Holmes has uneasily dodged confirmation prompts on Twitter. I hope that the reveal will be something fresh. Only time will tell. Already got a classic case of the good old jitters! - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:23, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet Notice[edit]

You are suspected of sock puppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/TreCoolGuy. Thank you.

Just letting you know of this. You have the ability to state your case at the link provided, in the section labeled "Comments by other users". I know I have already discussed the severity of this to you with your WWE account situation. I'm not accusing you (or was the one to submit the investigation), but it is always better to come clean, then let the CheckUser system determine the truth for us and contradict your stance. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:51, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I'm still speechless about this. I've put my argument and taken your advice on the investigation page. - Mainstreammark (talk) 05:48, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's more of a precautionary thing. To me currently, it's a bit troublesome the time of your account creation. If I'm incorrect, I apologize. Rusted AutoParts 14:25, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate the apology Mr. AutoParts. - Mainstreammark (talk) 17:14, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Batman: Arkham Origins mobile[edit]

As you have/will see, the mobile version is out. Don't know if you are going to get it, but I downloaded it, and quickly watched the credits. There are a TON of voice actors credited, so please be on the look out for sources confirming them. I am inquiring if game credits can be used as a source, which would help, as I'm not sure how many third-party sources are going to report on this. Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:01, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No I haven't downloaded it yet. I'll probably wait until after I've completed Arkham Origins (console). I don't think game credits can be used as sources, unless posted online by a reliable third-party source. Plus, I am not overly concerned about voice actors.....yet. I say this because the game JUST got released, and I doubt the credits will say (ex. Roger Craig Smith as Batman). Looking at Arkham City Lockdown's credits, you'll only see a bunch of voice actors, but not their respective roles within the game. With all due respect, I kinda don't want to look at AO mobile's news because I can't have the game spoiled for me. Hope you can understand. Sorry I couldn't be more accommodating. - Mainstreammark (talk) 20:15, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I'm going to try to stay away soon as well, but I'm torn between making sure the page is kept up and not getting spoiled. So the life of a Wikipedian. Anyways, I will start a thread on the Batman: Arkham page when it comes time to discuss the voice roles, because they are a part of the game, it's just is really, really hard to get a third party source. And you are right on how they are relayed in the credits, just the name. So we'll see. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:05, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think a thread is needed on the Batman: Arkham page. Remember how agonizing it was to find a source for voice acting in Arkham City Lockdown, as well as specific sources addressing certain roles? We eventually did find the sources, but they were reviews written by gaming news sites, a month or two after the game's release. I feel like this will just be another "like father (Lockdown), like son (Origins)" scenario. I'm pretty sure that from October 25 and on, the sites will overlook AO mobile and primarily focus AO console. If you think the thread is necessary, then I'll give my input on the page. Let's see how things play out. - Mainstreammark (talk) 12:12, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I was wondering if I could get you to chime in at Talk:The Avengers: Age of Ultron#Renner. There's currently a discussion there about whether Jeremy Renner should be noted as being in the cast of this movie. Thank you for your time. —Locke Coletc 04:01, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I was confused as to why it was requested for deletion. Glad everything is fine now. - Mainstreammark (talk) 12:19, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your page[edit]

Hi Mark. Thank you for the shout out, but I would personally prefer you not include me on your page in that statement. I don't want anything ever to come across the wrong way, in any future situation. Don't take it the wrong way, just, in my opinion, I don't think it is best to state that, and would prefer not being included that way. Enjoy Arkham Origins. See you on the page when you're done with it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:43, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also, lower the first 'f' in my username = PSN - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:45, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Favre, and I'm very sorry if the inclusion brought up concerns for you, I take it the same for Blake. My bad. - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:48, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I didn't want it to be a problem, but I don't feel it's something you should advertise, you know what I mean? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:08, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I got you bro. Didn't mean to portray you like a product. I've sent the request. I've still gotta wait like 10 hours before I can pick up my copy of Origins. Time zones can really be a.....well you know what comes next. - Mainstreammark (talk) 02:21, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll check when I put my PS3 on. I'm getting my copy in an 1.5 hours (at 12:01 am EST). I don't know if I'll get to actually playing it tonight. I'll probably just use the time to download the Knightfall and Deathstroke packs, and then the Black Mask challenge masks, and multiplayer content I get from GameStop. Are you going to get the Season Pass by any chance? I've though about it, and would want the unannounced DLC and the Bruce Wayne stuff, but I don't know if all those skins justify it. I might have to look at it as, I'm paying for the two packs I want, and get all these free skins. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:35, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I pre-ordered from GameStop as well. At first, I thought the Season Pass would be just another predicted advertising attempt, and I don't think about skins being serious enough for me to "require" them, but I've gotta tell you, that Bruce Wayne TV Spot they released, it really got me in the heart. I may get the Season Pass just to see the Bruce Wayne story they've added, but I also have a feeling that it may just be a couple of ninja-themed challenge maps that are more hype than truth. I'm still a little unsure, I have really high hopes for the game, so it's hard to come up with a concrete answer, do you understand? - Mainstreammark (talk) 02:47, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. Just got back from getting. Added you as a friend on PSN, downloaded everything and waiting for it to install. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:45, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, I just realized that the game will be shipped to my home. Means I've likely got to wait longer before I become the Batman of Arkham. I'll see you once we return to editing the article. Have a great gaming experience! - Mainstreammark (talk) 10:53, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Teamwork Barnstar
Here's to working together over the past months to get Batman: Arkham Origins ready for its release. It may have started off rocky and we may have had a few disagreements here and there, but we worked them out to get a great article ready, for hopefully, a great game. Let's keep it up to get the article to GA status! Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:08, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Favre. I'll be onboard for getting the game to FA status. Cheers! - Mainstreammark (talk) 20:21, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You started off rough but you've become a solid example of a top editor in a very short time and made quality contributions to Batman: Arkham Origins, thanks for the help. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 22:25, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to you as well Blake. I'm going to try and make quality contributions as such, to other superhero articles, and then on. I never thought I would become the type of Wikipedian I am today, and I'll always be grateful to those I have followed. Have a good one. - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:31, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I need help[edit]

I can't edit pages. What's going on? Every time I try, I get a pop-up saying that my network IP is blocked. I live in a hotel, could that have somehow caused this to happened? Can anyone help me, please? - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:23, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on where to go from here[edit]

Hi, Mark. "Indefinite" does not mean "long" or "infinite". It means "however long is needed for the user to address the issue". This can be minutes, hours - or indeed the user may never do so. Because this is a sockpuppetry_block, it will take some time. I recommend you do the following:

  1. Don't edit at all for a while, at least a month and preferably longer. Blocks of IPs are temporary but don't jump right back in if the block on your IP expires. Don't create another account. You don't want to be accused of or guilty of block evasion. During the coming weeks (and see below)...
  2. Read all of Appealing a block and the Guide to appealing blocks. Then read them again as you...
  3. Draft your request to be unblocked in a text editor like Notepad. Rant and grumble and go off in the text editor version. Then read the examples of bad unblock requests and remove any and all of them from your draft.
  4. Deal with the sockpuppet issue. When a checkuser confirms a sock, accept that there is more than enough evidence; two checkusers are already involved in your case. If you did use a sockpuppet account, fess up and promise to never do so again. If you didn't, a reviewing administrator may accept a no contest plea with your promise to refrain from ever doing so in the future.
  5. Show that you improved and intend to continue improving (the above barnstar helps).
  6. Read your draft request to be unblocked again. Now edit it aggressively to create a Readers Digest style condensed version. Admin's are busy and you don't want to present a WP:WALLOFTEXT that might result in a WP:TLDR (yes, scan over those, especially if you don't know them). Be concise but complete.
  7. It's finally time to request that you be unblocked. Copy {{unblock | reason=Insert your reason to be unblocked here ~~~~}} and stick that template down below. Copy your well-thought-out and concise request from the text editor and paste it over the Insert your reason to be unblocked here. Add a short edit summary and save the page.

Now wait again. The reviewing administrator has to thoroughly review your request and then check with all of the others involved, at least two checkusers and another administrator, before deciding on your fate. While you wait, read WP:SO, WP:UB CHEAP and WP:ROPE. It may be a week or more before you get an answer and the answer might not be what you hoped. The reviewing admin may open a thread at the Administrators' noticeboard but I doubt that because you don't have a long history and checkuser evidence can't be posted openly to protect your privacy.

While you wait, don't waste your time. You're blocked on the English Wikipedia but you aren't blocked from other projects. Over at Simple English Wikipedia, Batman: Arkham is a redlink in the 2013 in video gaming article. You know the topic and can use the same sources from the regular Wikipedia article. Keeping the article simple with short sentences and basic vocabulary is challenging. Quality edits to a sister project will help demonstrate your good faith and desire to contribute productively. After editing productively there, a link to your Simple Wikipedia contrib's will keep your unblock request concise.

I look forward to your return to productive editing. DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·cont) Join WER 23:50, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much sir. It's a very strong feeling knowing that someone can understand my situation, and can provide such a precise and helpful list of things I can do. I will forever remember this. Thank you very much. - Mainstreammark (talk) 13:24, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blake[edit]

Hey Blake. I'm trying my best to return to the English Wikipedia. I'd never expect that Mr. Tako would understand what transpired, don't even know why he's answering your question. If you read the recent stuff that showed up on my talk page, you'll see that this isn't a simple case of sock harassment... I got screwed, plain and simple. If you ever need anything, you can contact me on my Simple English Wikipedia talk page. There, I'm currently working on a Batman: Arkham Origins page. I'm trying my best to use all of Doc Tree's advice. I was very glad that he actually wanted to understand my situation. "Internet drama".......WTF?

I also have a favor to ask of you. Would you mind adding this source that confirms Kimberly Brooks as Barbara Gordon to the article. - Thanks Blake. - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:31, 8 November 2013 (UTC) Here is the source:[reply]

Favre[edit]

Hey Favre. Don't know if you still watch my talk page, but if you do, I'm currently on the SEW - would you mind if I leave sources on my talk for you to retrieve and add to the article? I saw you got the Barbara source. The article is sort of falling behind, and I still want to help as much I can. - Mainstreammark (talk) 04:02, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Either Brooks' source was exhibiting WP:SYNTH on their part, or we have yet another battle of contradicting sources. Recently (on Facebook mostly), there have been a trend of claims stating that Barbara Gordon is voiced by Kelsey Lansdowne. The most reliable source I've found confirming such, is the following:

I trust you'll do what should be done.

Exile has been..... interesting. - Mainstreammark (talk) 13:37, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
