Welcome![edit]

Hello, ManchesterTitans, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Username headsup[edit]

I'll apologize up front if this seems like a bit harsh, it's not my intent. Usernames here that look like they represent or promote an organization generally aren't allowed on Wikipedia. Our page here on corporate names has some more information. You will probably need to change your username at some point. It happens fairly often, so please don't think this is targeting you for any reason. I'm just trying to give you a heads up. That article on user names I pointed you to has a section towards the bottom on how to request a user name change. Good luck! Ravensfire (talk) 21:51, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have little to add to Ravensfire's comments here. In short, for the text to be restored, you'll need to follow the procedure detailed at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.

Please be aware that, since the article has previously been deleted as a result of a centralised discussion, any re-creation would need to refute the consensus-based rationale for that deletion (which, in that case, pertained to the Manchester Titans' perceived lack of encyclopaedic notability). Re-creations that do not satisfy the concerns raised at a prior WP:AfD discussion may be deleted at any time.

Please also be aware that editing topics in which you hold a personal or professional conflict of interest is discouraged – I refer you to the guideline page Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

Lastly, I echo Ravensfire's points regarding your username. Please consider thinking up a new name that represents only you personally and putting in an account renaming request at Wikipedia:Changing username. SuperMarioMan ( talk ) 01:29, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding promptly, i have submitted a change of name request that reflects myself and not the organisation. Re the conflict of interest, I have reviewed and understand, however i pose the question who is going to write about an Amateur Sports team with a small fan base other than people who by definition have the conflict.

The page has been updated by myself and others in the past ( i cant remember the login details i used then). I can remove any subjective material and keep the posts by myself to fact, ie statistics results, etc.

Will the page be reinstated, so i can edit as required which is easier than starting afresh? (ManchesterTitans (talk) 11:57, 6 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]

The short answer is: An amateur sports team with so small a fan base that no one without a conflict of interest will write about it likely is not notable enough to be the subject of an encyclopedia article in the first place. Since the deleted article cited no reliable, independent sources, it would have to be rewritten from scratch to summarize what such sources (if they exist) have to say about the club. Undeleting the deleted version would be of very little use. Huon (talk) 12:14, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
