Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:250px-Billykid.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:250px-Billykid.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

April 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Facebook, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Does not sound right. I've reverted your changes. Gary King (talk) 21:33, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent RfA[edit]

I am sorry, but I have closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you only have 323 edits on Wikipedia; while your edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards by which they judge RfA candidates, this particular RfA was all but assured of not passing.

I am sorry about this, and I hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I am confident that you would be able to submit a successful RfA in the future. You may wish to consider applying for an evaluation by other Wikipedia editors for feedback on how to obtain the necessary experience. Once you are ready to request adminship again, there is a great admin coaching program available, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! Timotheus Canens (talk) 12:43, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Merry Widow[edit]

Hello. Both the German and English versions of the Merry Widow spell the character Rosillon. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All's Well That Ends Well is in a similar situation: there the spelling is "Rousillon". Please conduct some research before you change spellings in works of fiction. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 08:27, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling corrections in Battle of Barry[edit]

I've reverted your spelling correction in Battle of Barry. The quote your corrected is from a work published in Scots in 1527 and the spelling used is anciant. Catfish Jim and the soapdish (talk) 11:16, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

February 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Franking. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 13:20, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A remark[edit]

Hello. Article text is not suitable area to express ones personal opinions on quoted words. --J. Sketter (talk) 15:37, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

June 2010[edit]

It was obviously not intentional, but your recent edit to Droitwich Spa changed an important mathematical unit, and has been reverted. If you would complete an edit summary for each edit you make, it will save other editors needing to systematically check your work.--Kudpung (talk) 10:02, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there

I wonder why on earth you changed the transcription of Tiësto from [ˈcɛstoː] to [ˈxɛstoː]. Please return the previous transcription.

Hello??? If you don't restore the page, I'll have to complain to the administrators. 87.210.232.221 (talk) 06:42, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
