Indian cinema
Yes I have done a lot of work on Indian films and lists but predominantly Bollywood which I have split by year. Due the fact that the original Tamil and Telugu list were so incomprehendable I only split them by decade and haven't cleaned them up because I have no knowledge of the films and imdb is very poor for tamil and telugu. I had strongly hoped that somebody from Indian cinema would come along and beautify them like the Bollywood films which I split by year and are now linked in Template:Bollywood. I strongly urge somebody to do the same with Tamil and Telegu films - a detailed guide by year (given the sheer amount of films) and have the Template:Tamilcinema linked with the years in Tamil film at the bottom of every article like bollywood. i'd like to see cleaned up and developed pages like Tamil films of 1972 like Bollywood films of 1972etc. Unfortunately it never seems like anybody except Shahid, Bollywood dreamz and universal hero are consistently active in this group aside from myself, let alone in Tamil or telugu cinema. pLease can somebody clean up the tamil and telegu lists and perhaps from 1950 onwards split by year like Bollywood. Would you rather they were named Tollywood films of 2000 etc rather than Telugu films of 2000? After all the Bollywood lists are Bollywood films of etc. Personally I'd rather they were named Telugu. As for imdb -I used to think it was awesome but as I have gathered experience in world film I have found it to be very flawed and incomplete. Perhaps you could ask User:Universal Hero if there is a site for Telugu films but I can point you t the years in telugu film onimdb if you haven't found it already -this would be a great start. Ideally there should be at least 25 films to be split by year. How about it begins at Telugu films of 1960? Yes I agree also. Mmm. I tell you what we;ll leave it as decades for now pre 2000 and once they have fully developed we'll see if it is necessary to split by year, Remember the Bollywood film lists were only split by year once the decade pages had developed. This way we know how many films we are dealing with and whether it is feasible to have by year. Thats excellent work on Telugu films of the 1930s exactly what I wanted doing!!! Judging by how many films there are in 1939 I think it is safe to say that they will be split by year at least from 1950 onwards eventually. Hey there. It has indeed been a long time. I'm unfortunately a little busy in real life, and with a dodgy internet connection. Still, I'm optimistic it will be back to normal sometime in the next couple of weeks, if not sooner. Sorry for the lack of reply over the past few days too. When I took the decision to assess Sivaji, I did notice your nomination of Lagaan. I still went for Sivaji as it might be the first film that I've seen before reviewing as an article, let alone a GA! (although, it seems like quite a while back, even if it was last year). I do want to have a look at Lagaan - will it be too long if I save it for after the review of Sivaji? Best wishes with the reviewing - I'm sure you're doing a good job. Will have a quick look at your review when I get a chance. And yeah...I was still reviewing. I've just finished reviewing Sivaji for the first round and I'm about to put it on hold. Of course, I expect I'll be re-reviewing within the next 7 days as seems to often be the case with most of my GA reviews (fortunately/unfortunately for the editor of the article I'm reviewing :P ). Hi, I've reviewed your submission and passed it. However, I think perhaps I should explain that just because your submission doesn't get a review doesn't mean it's going to get passed over. Reviews are an informal process and you don't need one to get your article promoted.
I might as well also inform you that while I've done a lot of reviews over the last few weeks, I may not be doing it much more. This is because I began writing reviews as a way to vet DYK's ahead of time so that I and others could put together DYK updates more easily. However, it seems that in practice it hasn't led to higher quality updates as I expected it to, as updates are still often hastily thrown together by an admin at the last minute.
Given that I also find these reviews very time consuming, this has made me think that I'd probably be better off going back to preparing updates myself instead of reviewing articles to make it easier for others, because that seems to be the only way to ensure a quality update. - Ah, I see what you mean. How to put it – using near-death experience (or NDE) is understood as someone dying, having a paranormal experience, then returning to life. For Malladi's situation there are turns of phrase such as "a narrow escape from death", or the family's "close brush with death" to indicate there were exceptional circumstances that left them alive. - Well, right after writing you teh previous post, I saw the failed FAC of the article a few weeks back. And I see no significant work has been done after the failed FAC. One of the reviewer dealt with lack of brilliant prose, while Blnguyen was pointing out some lack in plot mainly. While the brilliant prose thing is often difficult to build, the other objections can be dealt with. - Well, I've upgraded the bit about the plot, specifically the cricket oriented parts. Unfortunately I couldn't help myself so I wrote a very detailed account of the cricket. Having said that, I wasn't paying much attention to the love story part and can't explain the Radha and Krishna motif. Unlike the cricket, I don't remember what happened. I'm very impressed by your work to date. As for me I'm a bit preoccupied with sorting out towns in Africa. Asia and Latin America in undeveloped regions to try to counteract systematic bias at present -I;ve been adding articles like Koré Maïroua . I haven't got around the editing film hardly at all this year yet. I have reassessed Dor (film) as a B -this should be nominated for a GA immediately and I can see this going to FA soon enough if the work is put in. Prior version: Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002) is an award-winning Indian film drama, written and directed by Aparna Sen, which featured her daughter, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Rahul Bose as the lead actors. For the film, which was produced by N. Venkatesan, Goutam Ghose was the cinematographer, while Raviranjan Maitra did the film editing. Zakir Hussain, an Indian tabla player composed the background score for the film.
The story revolves around the relationship between Meenakshi Iyer (Konkona Sen Sharma) and Raja (Rahul Bose). Meenakshi is a Tamil Iyer traveling with her son Santhanam, and Raja is a Muslim wildlife photographer. The story revolves around these two lead characters during a bus journey amidst Hindu - Muslim riots in India.
The film premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival, Switzerland and was also showcased at other prominent film festivals. It ran for 3 minutes longer than its runtime of 120 minutes at Locarno.[3] The film opened to the Indian audiences on 19 July 2002. It was met with widespread critical acclaim upon release, and won several awards nationally and internationally. The film, which also released as a DVD, had English as its predominant language with a sporadic use of Tamil.

Differences
- Composer, cinematographer, editor scrapped from the lead. (I did it because they are mentioned in the infobox; and they are not as important as the director). I followed the example of Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
- In the prior version, in the 2nd paragraph, 2 sentences begun with "the story revolves around..." I joined the themes of teh 2 sentences. However, one word I may have omitted is "relationship", that can be incorporated.
- The third para of previous version is almost same. I removed the 3 minute longer run at Locarno (this is definitely not needed in the lead). Also, later, had to add the names of 2 awards (as suggested in the FAC), and removed the word "widespread".
My view
- Composer being Zakir Hussain can be mentioned in lead. The word "relationship" among the 2 protagonist may prove to be significant, so can be incorporated. My views
- I usually look upto FAs which are a part of world cinema. For instance, if you look at Transformers (film) or Casino Royale (2006 film), they have a unique way of putting across the lead section. The lead could be developed on similar lines.
- In my opinion, the infobox is a quick glance at the movie, but the lead section is more verbose and elucidating each and every aspect of the article as a summary. But, I'm not sure of the FA practices and how stringent they are.
- The 3 minute longer part, I agree, needn't be present in the lead section.

I notice I'm a little late again, and it seems whatever little time I spend on Wikipedia never seems to be enough. Oh well! I do have some issues with it, although, I don't think I can conduct the GA review this time (at least, not momentarily). I have noticed that your articles seem to be appear more shorter in content, and at times, research. Of course, whether this is actually the case I cannot say (without looking in the edit history). When making an article, find as much as you can and include as much of it as you can (even if it's double triple or more citations for even 1 line). Tighten expression and remove the unnecessaries afterwards. It is often tempting to tighten the expression all in one go and at the same time, removing what may be considered unnecessary (because you don't want to put work in it only to find that it should be removed again anyway). Even if this process takes a bit longer before you get the hang of it, it is worth it, and can make that much of a difference in the article's quality. Not to say that the quality is declining in your recent articles - it seems to be to a reasonably high standard, but, keeping the above in mind will ensure that standard doesn't start to slide the other way, nor that you are missing anything that may be of use. The filmmaking section appears quite comprehensive, in contrast to the reception and reviews section. I would change the musicindiaonline reference and add an appropriate citation where you mention something from the Dvd's extras. Also, consider fixing some of the red links, if and when you have a chance. Other than that, I would also suggest you give it a day and read it afresh as if someone else wrote it - and consider what other bits I may have picked up on if I was reviewing it as a GA. Hola! I;m not surprised that the article passed GA, just a little surprised it was reviewed so quickly. I said that I think that is a stronger article than the one at FA at present and it was only a start class two days ago. Sure when I have some time I'll look at reading and copy editing it -I see FA potential with that particular article as I said . - After the oppose by Maralia, I think we need the help of Blofeld or someone else. After seeing the article grow up from scratches, you are bound get blind about certain faults in the prose. This is very common. I faced similar problem in other articles. When you go through an article several times, gradually faults disappear! It needs a fresh pair of eyes. However, even if this FAC is not successful, a second FAC after a major copyedit (grammar and language will be the main concerns) is bound to be ok. I do a lot of work to improve coverage of Indian cinema articles on wikipedia and we are desperately seeking to obtain free images to improve our content on actor/director related pages. Yes you'll have to assert that you've got special permission to use it under that license. I know wikipedia could use 90% of flickr images if they just asked. No because it is still marked as non commercial. All image son wikipedia need to be able to distribute commerically for any purpose. You;ll have to provide the link and explain that the author has granted it under a different license by email. APologies I haven't given much time to the Indian FA articles but I'm currently restructuring all of the places in Africa and have today reorganized well over 240 articles on ethiopia.
