good[edit]

To see your user page and work on articles - keep up the good work! also sent emails SatuSuro 04:13, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your encouragement and advice. RahadyanS 07:26, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problems - any time - please do not hesitate to email or talk message if you encounter any problems in any way.
One problem - there are Javanese and royalty categories that might be more appropriate than 'Javanese people' for Sri Sultan HBIX - but I 'll have to check...so i havent changed it - but will let you know - I have something like 40 Imogiri persons need stub articles created - and there is also a new wikiproject royalty project started - so when I have sorted all through that I might know, sigh... another day[edit]

Have emailed and will add something SatuSuro 14:02, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was AFK much of the day. Thanks, as always, for your advice and assistance. RahadyanS 04:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the typo catch![edit]

I should probably say "duh" here. :)

I've got lots of experience with my own Wikis but am only just really starting with doing anything on the big mothership Wiki.

Anyway, thanks again. -MalcolmGin 20:42, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! Best wishes... RahadyanS 17:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've been a big fan of Hanne Blank's for some years. I have a review copy of Virgin: The Untouched History and look forward to reading it. RahadyanS 02:49, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, you got an ARC? Did you get it because you were a reviewer? Anyhow I'm glad you enjoy her work - so do I. :) -MalcolmGin 14:24, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not a reviewer, though I work at a newspaper. RahadyanS 02:47, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! I hadn't known before I asked her that ARCs circulate. I'm definitely not fully informed about how the business works. :) --MalcolmGin 03:40, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More about Hanne Blank's Virgin[edit]

I haven't had a chance to read Alex Kucynzki's review of Virgin in this past weekend's NYT Book Review. Hope it was positive! RahadyanS 19:27, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was more positive than not, but a bit snarky. Howevver, I understand that's kind of Kucynzki's M.O., though I don't know a lot more about her. --MalcolmGin 19:32, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't say I'm a fan of hers, either personally or professionally. The book deserved a reviewer with more intellectual oomph. Maybe Susan Wright or someone with good credentials who usually writes for the Culture or Foreign Desks. Maybe Margo Jefferson or Marlise Simons? RahadyanS 19:41, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but the article's already generated some positive interest from the industry. It appears that being the object of snark from Kucynzki actually can generate some interest from other parties, so I guess that's okay. :) Maybe the NYT will be more complimentary about a reviewer for Hanne's future books or something. :) --MalcolmGin 19:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category creation[edit]

For your information. You recently created Category:Under Cover (U.S. TV drama series) cast members but these types of categories are being fased out. See also: [1] Making use and creating such categories is therefore not useful atm, since they will be deleted once someone gets around to it (there is a lot of work to be done, so might take a while). I advise you to spent your time building a useful list of actors in the TV show article. It will be less time wasted. Good luck with your edits ! --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 09:46, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. RahadyanS 02:46, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cut[edit]

Not for long - back on, but dragging my heels... Thanks for the thought! SatuSuro 11:32, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't add that template to talk pages which haven't experienced controversy, and certainly do not add it to new talk pages!

Talkheader's instructions say - in bold no less - "This template should be used only when needed. Do not add this template to every talk page. In particular, it should not be added to otherwise empty talk pages." --kingboyk 13:12, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. RahadyanS 13:13, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lately...[edit]

I go through "fads", if you will, of what I focus on in Wikipedia. The past couple of days, I haven't done much that's very creative, merely going through entries and creating categories that make sense for me to create, such as alumni of various universities in Indonesia or people by city in Indonesia (sticking to regional capitals, major ports and other large cities). I've also created categories for various Indonesian ethnic groups. I don't think these additions are trivial, but your mileage may vary. RahadyanS 19:27, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cats[edit]

OK its good to create them - but there are eds who (a) look for underpopulated ones - and slap underpopulated tags on them and (b) Cfd troopers. If a cat has less than 20 inhabitants - theyre sitting ducks! Take care! SatuSuro 23:12, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Word from the wise. Thanks! RahadyanS 23:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm keeping your advice in mind when creating new categories. Either they're ones that I can populate from extant entries, or I think can be populated by others to a high enough level (e.g. Category:University of the Philippines alumni etc.) RahadyanS 15:30, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category deleted[edit]

Category:Buginese people was deleted sometime in the past couple of days. I only just noticed it... RahadyanS 01:35, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

is writing letters to the editor worthy of a section?[edit]

in your Sheela Lambert article you have a section called Response to Bisexual Erasure where many of the activity's listed are writing letters to the editor and posting notes on e-mail lists urging others to do the same- this is very commendable behavior but literally thousands of people do the same thing, so meaning no offence to her civic mindedness this doesn't seem to merit this type of laudatory attention in wikipedia BiAndBi

running groups at the New York LGBT Center[edit]

in your Sheela Lambert article you mention that she is "the curator and host of the Out Professionals LGBT Filmmaker Series" but do you realize that there are according to their own count over 300 groups at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Services Center all of which have at least one "host", again this is very commendable behavior and again meaning no offence to her civic mindedness, but all those at least 300 other "host" of events at the Community Center do not have flattering entries in wikipedia because this type of volenteer spirit is nice but not really notable BiAndBi

Sosrokartono[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Sosrokartono, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. — Indon (reply) — 10:28, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Shakespeare Workout requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- DionysosProteus 20:51, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Shakespeare Workout has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable; all notable coverage is of the (unrelated) London Shakespeare Workout.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
