Railway Stations[edit]

Thanks for the help with completing the Infoboxes. Much appreciated. normangerman (talk) 01:14, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you think it's more likely that Millswood opened in the 1910s? Pdfpdf (talk) 05:42, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. About Millswood I Thought the station was opened in the 1910's because there was something about ther Clapham railway station page that it opened just before 1917, when the Clapham branch closed. The platforms at Millswood look very similar to the ones at Clapham and Hawthorn, and that's why I thought Millswood opened in that period. I'm just trying to help. Rhysydude (talk) 05:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. You are helping, and I appreciate it.
Personally, I can't find any evidence of when most of these stations opened, so I was interested to see your change and wondered what your information was.
Your reasoning is logical - I, personally, can't tell the difference between those opened in the 1880s, the 1910s, and the 1940s - they all look the same to me!
Thanks for your help. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 05:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The National Park railway station, Adelaide page says the platform has been demolished, but you've just edited the box saying there's one platform there. Which is correct? Pdfpdf (talk) 05:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, my mistake. National park station did have one platform, but it was demolished after the station closed many years ago. My bad? I guess I need to type with more sense. Rhysydude (talk) 05:43, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not so sure. I thought I saw somewhere that it was still standing, but now, of course, I can't find that statement! Do you have any other info?
Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 05:48, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wish I had more info about this station, but I cannot find any pages on other websites that have photos. I don't think the National Railway Museum website has any of National Park station, I last checked on there about 2 weeks ago, and it wasn't on there. I'll probably have a closer look at some other web pages, and I'll give you the website if I find it. Rhysydude (talk) 05:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. That would be appreciated.
Is it your impression that the station is still there, or demolished?
Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 05:56, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the station has been demolished because most of the other stations on the line were demolished when the line closed. I think this is true. Rhysydude (talk) 06:15, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Thanks again.
I remembered where I saw that info - at Bridgewater railway line, Adelaide.
It seems I got it wrong; it's Long Gully railway station, Adelaide that's not completely demolished (yet). Yes, it would seem that National Park railway station, Adelaide has indeed been demolished. (Well, I was less than a mile wrong!).
Never-the-less, if you do find more information, I'd be interested to read it.
Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 08:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! Very nice. Thank you very much; most appreciated. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:06, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Noarlunga Line[edit]

The Section Hallett Cove - Noarlunga was built in the 70s. I have no idea though what shelters they used before the current ones. Sorry mate. normangerman (talk) 08:41, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

April 2008[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to MySpace, you will be blocked from editing. Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 05:27, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unfair warning[edit]

I would never ruin a page, I have never been on that MySpace section, and I don't remember going on a computer on the 17th of April. I did look on the Wikipedia the day before, but I did not ruin any pages, honestly. I come on here to contribute, NOT to vandalise!

I noticed the warning (which I thought excessive, as well) - there were three instances of vandalism from your account in a short period, but they were entirely out of character, and I assumed that your account must have been compromised. You might want to change your password, just in case. - Bilby (talk) 08:15, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Salisbury Station[edit]

The change of year wasn't done by me. I will try to find the exact year of when it opened, and will insert it into the InfoBox. (I think the change was due to something with your warning, the Escncez guy reverted your change, but he's from the US, so he wouldn't know anything about it). normangerman (talk) 06:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

False and misleading information in closed railway station pages[edit]

Please stop guessing facts about closed stations that are misleading or entirely false. Also please backup claims with sources. Xt881m (talk) 05:05, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote a quite vitriolic response to Xt881m, but lost it. (Probably just as well!) It seems to me that Xt881m is one of those people who would rather complain than actually do anything useful. I do NOT agree that your guesses are either misleading or false. In the absence of actual hard information, you are drawing reasonable conclusions, and you are saying so.
Keep up the good work. Unlike Xt881m, you are actually trying to add value to WP. Well done. Pdfpdf (talk) 09:39, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How is adding false information (such as saying passenger rail in SA stopped in the 1960'a) adding any value to wikipedia at all? Xt881m (talk) 11:26, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Xt881m: I'm not sure how appropriate it is for you and me to be having a discussion on somebody else's talk page. Accordingly, I'm moving continuation of this discussion to your talk page. Pdfpdf (talk) 11:49, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Adelaide Wikipedia Users Group meetings[edit]

Hi, in case you're not already aware of it, a group of Adelaide Wikipedians has been meeting on a monthly basis since April, with the aim of improving the scope and quality of articles on South Australian topics. We meet at UniSA's City West campus, and our 23 July meeting will have a guest speaker from the National Trust of SA.

This coming Sunday, 6 July, we will be holding our first Edit-a-thon. This will be an opportunity for new editors to come and learn either basic or more advanced editing from very experienced wikipedians, so if you know anyone who would like to get some practice, please let them know - and beginners will be very welcome. Cheers, Bahudhara (talk) 06:23, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
