September 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Zerodur may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Replaceable fair use File:Casting of a ZERODUR Mirror.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Casting of a ZERODUR Mirror.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 20:31, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

February 2016[edit]

Hello, I'm Chrisw80. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Schott AG seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Chrisw80 (talk) 08:19, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

We do not understand why this account was blocked. We contributed to an article to improve it and this account has been used to do this for quite some time now without any problems ever before. In Germany we simply had to prove that the account was in fact associated with Schott AG. Are there different rules for different countries within Wikipedia? Decline reason:

User agreed to remain blocked. Will use the account User:Ffedit instead. SQLQuery me! 03:24, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chrisw80 - we don't see how the reduction of content violates the neutral position directive in any way and disagree with the decision. Actually all information present in our recent edit has been there before. We just regrouped it and cut the mixture of historic and current information to streamline the intro. It would be helpful to know how you justify the rollback. On which specific findings did you base your decision?

  • Hi. Yes, there are different rules on different Wikipedias - German Wikipedia allows company accounts, but English Wikipedia does not. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:07, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Alright then. Could anyone please rename my account then, so we can get on with this? We use this account mainly in Germany and Europe and now it got blocked from a US admin. Sigh... Schott-PR (talk) 16:20, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just a bit more bureaucracy, sorry. One other restriction at the English language Wikipedia is that accounts cannot be used by multiple users, so it's strictly one user per account - your use of "we" suggests multiple people use it. Also, if we rename thus account, it will rename it globally and so it will be renamed for your use on the German language Wikipedia too, which you might not want. One possibility is that you could leave this account blocked on the English Wikipedia and carry on using it on other Wikipedias, and create another account only for use on English and operated by only one person (and put a note on its user page so that nobody thinks you're misusing multiple accounts). There is no autoblock on this account, so you should be able to do that. Let me know which of these options you prefer. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 20:38, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then, lets keep this account blocked for edits in the english Wikipedia then. I registered a personal account (Ffedit) which I will only personally use to contribute.

Request reason:

This is a 1:1 translation from the german wikipedia-Article and it contains, from my point of view, just facts and no PR-Speech. If you see it different, please name the parts of the text, that includes Marketing- or PR-Content. Thank you.

Decline reason:

You are blocked because of your username but didn't address this in your unblock request. Additionally, you have already agreed to use your other account. Yamla (talk) 15:14, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
