I speedy deleted this image as a blatant copyright violation. Wireimage (Getty images) does not release its images under the GFDL. Garion96 (talk) 22:56, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Balto Characters

I'm just starting one of the busiest quarters at my college, so I can't and won't make any promises that I might not be able to keep. But I'm willing to help if I can. User:Ben_10 22:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Zeppelin?

Why do you keep reinserting the sentence "Randy is holding the zeppelin." in the plot summary of A Christmas Story? There is no other mention of the zeppelin in the article, so at that point the reader will have no idea what is being talked about - they'll reasonably ask "What zeppelin? Why do I care?" If you think it's so important to mention that Randy is holding the zeppelin, then shouldn't there be other text added too, to explain what zeppelin is being talked about and why it's important? 216.75.188.196 (talk) 21:11, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Non-free image problem & WP:NICK invite

Hi Elbutler, I was looking over your userpage to see if you'd be interested in joining WikiProject Nick and noticed that you have a copyrighted image in your infobox. Non-free images should only be used in articles per Wikipedia:Nonfree#Policy_2 number 9. Other than that you have a great userpage, and would you like to join WP:NICK? Thanks :-) John Sloan (view / chat) 14:28, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

You can simply add your name here! You can also add one of, or both of the two WP:NICK userboxes to your userpage. {{User Wikiproject Nickelodeon}} / {{User:Jonathan/Nick}}. Cheers! John Sloan (view / chat) 14:40, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:White Fang DVD.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:White Fang DVD.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 08:08, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Jimmy

I reverted your splitting of Jimmy Olsen. He doesn't have any significant coverage per WP:NOTE to suggest that he warrants separation. Dr. Swann has more real world coverage than Jimmy's section does. Even if the show lasts another season I don't think there would be enough in two more seasons worth of companion books to warrant separating him out on his own. As far as all of the main characters go, he plays very minor roles.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:07, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Use of the "Undo" Function

Hello, I notice you have been using the "Undo" feature quite often in your edits. Keep in mind when you use this feature that if you are undoing an edit that is not blatant vandalism, you must explain the reason why you are undoing the edit in the edit summary, rather than using only the default message. Simply using the default message is like slapping the face of the editor whose edit you are undoing. When you apply to be a Wikipedia administrator, this is one thing that those voting on the RfA look at when deciding whether to support or reject the request. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 03:35, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I can assure you...

that Kalajan is not sinofdreams. Kalajan's edits started in September. Sinofdreams started in December. Futher more, the "you got new messages" on Kalajan's talk is different from Sinofdreams. Sins say "yot have do not new messages" and you can't click it. Sinofdreams seems to always haraas Kalajan. I'm just letting you know. SimonKSK 13:43, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

To add to that, I edited with less frequency from last march. And as I told you I copied the you got new messages from some users page. I'll find him for you.  ←Kalajan→  14:23, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://youtube.com/werickson33, http://youtube.com/hipgirl123). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:46, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Couple of question

How long have you been editing here? How many edits do you have (do you know). Have you had any major issues that I would want to know about if I was intersted in nominating you for RFA at some point? Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:00, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Ok, i found the answers here. I have been following you for a bit and think you would make a good admin at some point in the future. If you have any questions, need a second opinion on anything for need general wiki advice, please feel free to contact me. I do recommend you work on increasing your edit summary usage (the link above shows that close to half of all of your edits do not have edit summaries). I would think a few more months with current editing levels and you would probably be ready for an RFA. That is, of course, if you would be interested. List of The Mighty B! characters/sock puppet extravaganza

I and several others have been combatting this "problem" for some time now, and some progress has been made. I see you have become all to familiar with some of the bizzare tactics used by this person. There are an unfortunately high number of articles that have had to be protected as a result, but with time and patience I remain confident this issue can be resolved. The more eyes we have on it the better, so your continued vigilance would be most welcome and appreciated. This page will give you some idea of the full scope of the problem. The key as I see it is to follow a revert, block, ignore philosophy and be careful not to directly engage "you know who" in conversation as it only encourages them. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:19, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

please note

that when you made a "sock-edit revert", you reverted to redirect made based on consensus of 3 people. That does not constitute a consensus even for regular pages, and especially for pages that relate to policy or guideline proposals.WP:CONSENSUS, Wikipedia:Policies_and_guidelines#Evaluating_the_consensus

File:Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures.jpg

I reduced File:Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures.jpg to 300 pixels, the size that's used in Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures. Non-free images should be no bigger than necessary for use in articles. Vector non-free images should contain no more detail than is visible in their articles. For pictures used as thumbnails, assume some users have their settings to view thumbnails at 300 pixels. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:06, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

AIV reports

Regarding this report, neither of those two accounts had any edits, deleted or otherwise which were vandalism. Please see WP:VAND#NOT. Furthermore, though they are clearly the same person attempting to edit war, reporting their good faith contributions (which had informative and correct edit summaries, or at least the first one did) is unacceptable. Please only report blatant vandalism to AIV in the future. Thank you. Protonk (talk) 02:23, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:White Fang Title Card.JPG)

Thanks for uploading File:White Fang Title Card.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Liar

Of course he was lying. He's got by my count at least 20 old socks that he's been using for years to evade scrutiny for his nonesense. Those are all still out there. I'm trying to get his socks dealt with with a minimum of AN/I drama. In the end, WP:RBI can only work if the system is efficient (which it rarely is). Message from LDEJRuff

I'm not angry or anything, ma'am, but I'd like to know why you reverted my edits to the section for The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa. Why'd you take out the reason why the series ceased broadcasting on Toon Disney (which is to shut down this Friday and be replaced with Disney XD)?

By the way, ma'am, I hope the series comes out on seasonal DVD box sets.

Bernard Madoff

Thank you for reverting the vandalism by User_talk:24.44.63.190 on Bernard_Madoff . He's done that on another page, and I've reported the user for vandalism. This page is so prone to vandalism by random IP addresses (usually removing all references to his religion against discussion consensus) that it makes me wonder if its not a concerted effort by a group. Sigh. Anyways, thanks again for your help! Magemirlen (talk) 02:54, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

February 2009

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Total Drama Action. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. It's not clear that those edits you are reverting are WP:Vandalism. Toddst1 (talk) 16:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for engaging in an edit war at List of Balto characters. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Toddst1 (talk) 18:10, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Copyright problems with File:Don Nelson.jpg

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[Talk:File:Don Nelson.jpg]] and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Tim McGraw in Four Christmases.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Tim McGraw in Four Christmases.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 05:41, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Disney XD

Adam's edit to Disney XD is correct. Jetix was not the name of the network within the US, and ABC Kids did not exist in that fashion either. Finally, the channel existed on more than one Comcast system, with many channel numbers, plus it was on nearly every cable system in the nation, so the "Many cable systems" edit (which is the standard established from the Wikipedia Television Stations project) is also correct. --Mhking (talk) 17:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Mentorship

I have seen what has come to light in recent days and have been asked to mentor you. I will gladly do this but mentoring is a two party process (i can mentor all I want but if you wont listen it means nothing). Firstly, wikis are generally anonymous. Some choose to disclose more informaiton than others but in general you should not reveal personally identifiable information. Secondly you should not lie if you choose to reveal that information. In general we should NOT care who you are in real life and more about what you DO on this project. If you have any quetsions about the appropriateness of action you have taken or want to take or any other questions please feel free to contact me on my usertalk page. You can also email me if you believe the concerns to be confidential. Failure to work with this may end up in you getting blocked as it appears the community does not trust you. Hope you find this helpful and looking forward to working with you. Thanks! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:05, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
