Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, was established on 9 September 1999. The college functions from a ten–storey building complex of 29,000 square metres to accommodate the demands of students. The Valliammai Engineering College is a part of the SRM Group of Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Valliammai Society. The Valliammai Society was founded by Thiru. T. R. Pachamuthu, a well-known educationalist, in the name of his mother Tmt. R.Valliammai. The Institution is certified with ISO 9001:2000[1] from Bureau Veritas Quality International.
Campus location
The college is situated by the side of NH 45, between Tambaram and Chengalpattu.
Administration
This college is administrated by Thiru. P. Ravi as the co-chairman, P. Sathyanarayanan as vice-chairman and Dr.B.Chidhambara Rajan as principal, has been utilizing his expertise in the upbringing of the institution.under the guidance of founder and chairman Thiru T. R. Pachamuthu.
Management
The college has been established in 27.5 acres (111,000 m2) in 25000 sqm built-up areas to accommodate the classes and 33 laboratories in 5061 sqm in a environment easily accessible by road and rail with fully modernized equipments and 763 computers to train t to the present job requirements. It offers courses in electronics and communication engineering, Computer science and engineering, Electrical and electronics engineering, Electronics and instrumentation engineering and Information technology at the under graduate level and MCA, MBA at the postgraduate level with 600 intake. 150 teaching staff is on role and 1821 students are pursuing their studies.
