Hi, I understand why you deleted my page the first time, because it did not explain the notability of the band. fair enough. But then I read the policies and particularly the criteria about bands with national charting, so I rebuilt my page from scratch with great care to explain how the band charted nationally in canada, so I'm not sure why you deleted the page after that. please respond on my talk page

In the licensing information for the photo I copy-pasted an email from the administrator of the site, that allowes me to use the photo. So, why did you remove it? Image removed 2

You removed the image at Wright Airlines with the comment "Rm image that's going away". I'd like an explanation on why the image was deleted. It was uploaded under a non-commercial license, which Wikipedia cannot use due to the advertising revenues many of its mirrors generate. These are accordingly deleted on sight. Since you're an expert on images, please take a look at these two images [1] [2], they're both a collage of copy-righted images, photoshoped together by a user and then released into the public domain under "Creative Licensing". Westfield Eastgardens

Plenty of shopping centres are considered to be of encyclopedic interest by our standards these days, and regularly survive AfD, so asserting on your own that they are "not considered to be" is a bit rich. It was hardly an advert, either, considering that it was written by a regular user who considered it to be notable and not anyone involved with Westfield. There has been no AfD on this particular article, and I see no reason why it wouldn't survive one.

There was a proposal to merge all Westfield shopping centres into a group article, but it was subsequently rejected, although some newbie did it anyway and was promptly reverted. Those state articles, which contained nothing that wasn't already in the individual articles, now redirect to The Westfield Group, so I'm not sure why you keep trying to redirect Westfield Eastgardens to one of them. I'm afraid it doesn't work that way, and you should know better than to try otherwise. If you want it deleted, you nominate it for deletion - you do not get to speedy it unilaterally and then make other people have to undelete it by vote. Furthermore, you're patently abusing that speedy deletion criterion, which is meant specifically (and you're welcome to read the explanations of Jimbo, who responsible for authoring this one) for actual advertising (in this case, assumedly by Westfield), not for commercial enterprises written about by regular editors who did think they were notable, and which you want deleted but can't be bothered trying to get a consensus for. First person

I notice you made an edit (History of China) to get rid of first person. I'm just curious: is there a rule in Wikipedia against using first person in cases like this? (Sorry, I'm too lazy to navigate the rules and guidelines). The first person in this particular case seemed quite normal and natural to me; one can almost imagine an eminent professor of history at a British university giving a talk just like this. Changing it to the 'impersonal voice' of 'what is known' etc. actually seems to detract from the article by making it more anodyne -- 'impersonal' in the less attractive sense of the word.

This is just an idle question, but I would be interested to know what you think about this.

Request for Protection

I would like to request that the articles Peter_Roskam and Tammy_Duckworth be protected. I would also ask that other articles regarding political candidates currently running for office be protected, but this might be something addressed on a larger scale through policy change inthe future. Considering the potential for unscupulous persons looking for an 11th hour propoganda tool or muzzle might alter, vandalize or add material from IP addresses and other ill-meaning users. The sharp rise in vandalism in these two pages makes it clear that his pattern will only increase this last week before the election.Arcayne 06:39, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

FootballMercato

Hi, You've deleted the FootballMercato article. Some other websites in the same category are even less known than our site. Wikipedia conditions mention that the site should be known by the maximum number of people. Our site has received more than 150,000 visitors from 60 countries. It should be enough to be considered as well-known. Not all sites are eBay and Wikipedia. Could you please clarify your position? Knowing all these arguments, we would like to restore that article.

Howell Hu

Hey --- can you explain why this article doesn't deserve {{db-attack}}?? It was already listed for speedy two days ago, then the page creator removed the speedy tags. But still he hasn't offered any sources whatsoever, not even an external link, which is a direct and gross violation policy about biographies of living people. And all the article does is continually call him a "Chinese race traitor" (Hanjian) and present quotes (possibly made up) in an effort to present him in a disparaging light.

As far as I can tell (based on my google search) this article is being created as a result of a dispute between some mainland Chinese students on the UC Berkeley online forums, and this guy is not notable whatsoever.

At minimum an admin should re-stub the page and warn all contributors that they must provide a source for every edit. cab 03:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

I deleted the page. I know both Howell Hu and the perpetrators of this attack page. The whole thing is intended as a joke to disparage Howell. Howell is in no way notable. This is a based on a Facebook dispute. It happened when Howell Hu started an "East Asian Co-prosperity sphere" group on Facebook. Those in the pro-China "One China.....bitch" group went over to Howell's group and started disputing his premises and Howell responded by banning them from his group. And then those in the "One China.....bitch" group set up a Howell Hu fan group, using much of the language of the article, to ridicule him. Facebook deleted that group. misunderstading with Passion (yaoi)

Hello, I would like to discuss the re-deletion of Passion (yaoi) page. I received a message saying that my work was a copy of [3] and that it was up for deletion. Which is not true, the information that I paced on that page was from the book which I own. I quickly changed (rewrote) the material, but I did not know I had to talk about these changes on the talk page Talk:Passion (yaoi). of the article.

so when the page got the deleted I presumed it was based on the first message, so I put the page again with the proper changes. The second time it was deleted I presumed, it was a computer mistake or the person that deleted it did check the changes I made. So I just wanted to make that clear, I enjoy putting information on wikipedia and since I am in college I do not have time to fully know every editing technique or rule (I just do this for fun, and to make this online encyclopedia better), please be patient with me, and thank you for messages they have been very informative.Angel,Isaac 15:43, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

DARDA, Dominica American Releif and Development Association

What is going on here? I do not understand why this page keeps getting deleted. This is a non-profit organization. It is not soliciting anything (if I read the edit comment correctly). Additionally, I wrote all the content on the official website and the reworded content on the WIki page so there is no copyroght violation. What am I missing? Why do you guys keep deleting the page... and why do I keep asking this question without response? Please see last message posted to Merope's talk page...

--- Hello, I have tried on several occasions to add a page about DARDA, Dominica American Relief and Development Association to Wikipedia, yet it continues to get deleted. I am the webmaster for darda.org, a member of the organization, and I created ALL the content (text) on the website. Therefore, it is not a copyright violation for me to use my own work (with permission from DARDA) to add to the Wikipedia page. I stated this in the DARDA talk the first time it was deleted yet when I tried to recreate the article, it was deleted a second time. On my third attempt, I reworded the text, cited the material (references to darda.org) and claimed ownership of content. It was up for a few day but I noticed today that it had, again, been deleted. Can you please tell me why?

DARDA, Dominica American Releif and Development Association

Improv, thank you for your response. I would like you (Wikipedia) to reconsider your decision to delete the DARDA page for several reasons. First, DARDA is not a "business" in that it does not generate "revenue". It is a non-profit charitable organization that raises funds for the island of Dominica. I added the page in order to provide a reference to those searching about Dominica or organizations working towards her behalf. The page was merely meant to provide information, not solicit anything. Second, by adding the page my intent was not to promote myself or my affiliations. Yes, I am a member of the organization but I am also the webmaster - responsible for web content related to the organization. I was merely trying to do my job and create a reference page for the organizatin on your well-visited site. Third, you have a page for Alpha Kappa Alpha (which I am a member of) that is a charitable organization. Hello, I was in the middle of writing an article on Club Of The Sons, and you seem to have deleted and protected it peremptorily before I had a chance to finish or revise the article. Given what I had completed writing at the time, I could understand the speedy deletion as "CSD G11: Advertisement/Spam". However, now that you've protected the delete, it provides me no opportunity to explain the direct links to other bands Earthsuit, Mutemath, and Macrosick and how Club Of The Sons fits into their evolution. Return of the Club of the Sons

Hi, I wrote you previously about your protected deletion of Club of the Sons. Well, I took your suggestion and wrote the stub out in my userspace at User_talk:Souldier77/Club of the Sons.

I rewrote the article after looking over Wikipedia's notability requirements for music articles. Even as a stub, it satisfies the criterion for having gone on "a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country" as well as having "at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable" (it actually has two, from Sparrow Records band Earthsuit).

So please have a look at it and let me know if you would now reconsider unprotecting the page so that I can recreate it for others to expand on in the future. Thanks! Souldier77 07:21, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Portfolio for ArbCom

On Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2006/Summary table, I added a column "Examples" with links that exhibit a candidate's arbitration skills. My motivation is that as a voter, I don't want to just rely on a candidate's words, but also see their actions. Moreover, I believe a portfolio of "model cases" to remember in difficult situations can be useful for each candidate, as well.

How much longer should I expect to hear comments like this? I don't need to remind you about the legitimate gripes I could have about your civility here, but what, pray tell, is your issue? Alternative deletion process

Regarding a deletion process to handle articles that have sourcing problems, see [5]. I don't think this should be dragged out on ANI, but I think is a good idea that merits further consideration. On the one hand, there are important historical topics that it may be difficult to have meet a high standard of verifiability (numerous independent non-trivial published highly reliable sources) in only 5 days, but which should be on the encyclopedia, and on the other hand there are articles that have no good sources but which "pass" AfD because of some silly voting. —Centrx→talk • 02:21, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to add that the link to the mailing list message is still wrong, but that is due to a renumbering of the messages in the archive - might be best to see if they revert that before changing the link.
