Corn is Maize, a plant native to North America, and was not grown in the old world untill the Coloumbian Exchange. The pests are not eating corn, they are eating the corns of wheat, the kernals, on the heads of wheat. Written as it was, that worms would fall off the ears of corn, is misleading. undo
