What i added to the article has sources, and sticks to them. If you disagree with what is stated in the lead then dispute the source with a template. • curprev 19:3819:38, 20 April 2021Skllagyook talk contribs 13,851 bytes +1 The source mentions Muslim scholars and traders/artisans etc. coming to cities in West Africa (after having mentioned the Aftican kingdons of the Sahel) but does not say that this happened in Ife (they are discussing African cities in general). Extrapolating this to Ife when it is not explicit would be WP:OR. Ife was part of broad West African trade networks that connected it to cities where this happened. undo Tags: Reverted Mobile edit Mobile web edit
  • curprev 19:3319:33, 20 April 2021Skllagyook talk contribs 13,850 bytes +16 Hopefully a compromise: more explicitly mentioned indirect links with North Africa/Andalucia and direct contacts with Islamic peoples. undo Tags: Reverted Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit
  • curprev 19:3019:30, 20 April 2021Skllagyook talk contribs 13,834 bytes +24 Direct contact w/ Muslims is already mentioned. The source(which again is not a scholarly one)doesn't seem to mention Islamic scholars or artisans coming to Ife specifically anywhere(Ife was non-Islamic). Ife traded with Muslim kingdoms. Please stop edit warring and take it to the Talk page. undo Tags: Manual revert Reverted Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit

There ws a direct contact with Islam culture, meaning Muslim scholars and artisans physicially coming there, Islam having spread centuries earlier. There was also an indirect contact with Mediterranean culture (Andalusia). Let us not make our own speculations and stick to sources. Instead fv reverting, add templates if you have any doubt. undo Tags: Undo Reverted
