There is no evidence to support the assertion here that it was Godfrey of Bouillon, and the source cited - Simon John's "Godfrey of Bouillon" - in fact disputes the authenticity of the Chronicle and any claims that this was Godfrey of Bouillon. The inclusion of this passage serves no purpose other than to introduce an unfounded accusation of antisemitism. undo
